Gelbo, is that your NOVA, if so, congrats! We always love mid sixties Muscle, one other favorite is the La Mas 365ci 4 speed. red body white top Convertible, for me had better lines than the GTO.

Yeah, I got this one abt 2 yrs ago. I had a 1970 Nova before I joined the Army in 78 and I've wanted one since. Getting close to retirement, so why not a project??

Gotta have something to keep me in the garage...:D Well there's a couple of bikes too ..

VERY nice. Novas always made up into good "sleeper" cars and just the right wheel-base to get its power on the ground. They kept the body style pretty much right up to the last one in '79 (except for adding more grill bling). Even the 307 was fun. That 454 must roar.
:D

Loved Novas.
My first car was a ‘73 two door hatchback Nova.

Built a 350 for it with an aggressive cam, single plane manifold, and long tube headers.
Painted it metallic blue and put on brushed alloy 15 inch wheels with 60-series tires.

Awfully fast little car for a 17 year old.

Blew up that engine running it too hard 3 years later.
Shoe-horned in a 454 to replace it.

A Nova with a 454 is an absolute monster.
Sold it when I got married, but kept the memories.

Good ones MR2..yeah those "Barn finds" can fetch some $$$ to someone who's not savvy and has deep pockets...

Even the price I paid for mine, which was below the avg for that yr/type of car I've still put about 5k more into it....but I knew that...

Folks these days want turn key restomods $$$$...Mine is pure gasoline toilet bowl Holley 750...you can smell the gallons being emitted...:lifter

That's Hot Roddin'.. Gives me an excuse to go to the garage...:D

Nice Glebo.

I was in High School in the late '70s and we had a pretty good collection of '60s era muscle cars out in the parking lot. Not too expensive either being that they were already ten years old. With a part time job and a little help from mom and dad ownership was a possibility.

I had a nice Chevy pick-up but always liked the early Mustangs and Camaros. :o

My first 4 wheel vehicle, 51 Chevy 1/2 ton paid $35 for it, it needed a timing gear. When I got to Leonard Wood in Jan 75 it seemed as if every other drill sgt. there had an early 50's 1/2 ton truck.

I can just hear the greenies screeching. That's a happy thought for any day. :D

Edit to add: I wish I'd done prints of my '79 instead of slides. They degraded over the years and now I'm only left with memories of the long-cool woman in a black dress at Fort Myer who had a '73 hatchback like GC's. Only a 6 cyl, so I dropped her.

*****ATTENTION-ATTENTION-ATTENTION***** THIS HIGH PERFORMANCE PIECE OF ...... ART IS BEING RELISTED! Thats right, sometimes lightning does strike twice! Please remember not only is it your job but its your civic duty to get out there and check out the vehicles if its something you're gonna be interested in.....It's a 1977 Bronco and yes, its ugly. Doesn't run, need windshield and lots of other stuff... like aaalllllll the stuffffff Good news is: It's the last year of the little Bronco and the most desirable year.... everybody wants the last year because the good folks @ Ford finally fixed everything on these bad muthatruckas and updated everything so in the Bronco field that's the best one and they called it a Ranger Bronco. Has the bulletproof 302 in it..... this one ain't running... Missing the carburetor, radiator and I think distributor but the motor is in it and it.... Has disc brakes on the front, which none of them had Automatic on the column Power steering (most of them didn't have that either) Duel gas tanks Title is here Yes, she is as ugly as homemade soap No, you ain't take anything better looking to prom, no matter how hard you try to convince yourself No, it doesnt run and we aint got time to fugure out why not. My interest in this car is the design that once dominated automobile design and influences to this day, love this car!!! TOP 10

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-lamborghini-400-gt-22-2/

You can clearly see the influence the 400 had on the Jaguar (I had an 85 Red XJS H.E) nose and headlights, in addition to the visual straight body line front to rear.

B52, you are so right about the transfer of basic knowledge, imo, a trade Master Certificate will be as valuable as a MA/or Phd in everything, but the STEM systems.
We purchased our building are are in the process of a complete renovation, we are GC'ing the project ourselves. Average trade hr/rate $110. and thats a deal in our AO.

But, that is and is not what this post is about. Early this week a one of a kind hit Bring a Trailer. For sport, on day (1) one, we called the final sale price, betting each other dinner, plus $1. we posted it in the thread for the car being sold.

A few months ago at auction -AllSurplus- we won a Ford 1986 F-250. The family owned the truck from day 1, the owner did all the R/M himself, changing the oil and greasing the hubs, filters, every 3k miles. His record keeping is hand written and follows the R/M 1986-2020 when he passed with 75K miles. His business was paving and only used the truck from May-October, garage keep, undercoat at delivery, rust on upper wheel wells, but clean with straight body lines, no accidents.

More Pictures coming soon.

The shop doing the body work are clients, barter and cash under 3.5k may be the best deal we have ever done with four wheel.
When the body work is completed we are going to pull the engine and which is a 351 Windsor 5.8L and rebuild to 425HP. Eddie in Sayerville NJ
Should be a looker when finished.

Edit to add: That Jaguar that we flipped (Thank God) was a total pain point, limited niche market, was HAPPY to see the temperamental Bit*H go.

Looking nice. Are you keeping the military trailer hitch?

Penn
12-27-2023, 07:48
The hitch will stay, but the truck will head to www.BringaTrailer.com after a trip to the beach or two. I get a kick out of restoring a classic, which imo the square 1980's pickups are, unlike todays trucks, those were straight up working man trucks, very few comfort items were available. eg., there was a Dodge Ram 2013 at AJ Wilner, local auction with 236K on it, a few dents, that went for $3700. a buy IMO, but beyond fucgly, in fact downright zero style, substituting bulk and plush for design and granda pinga Image/ YMMV

I still miss my '82 Ford pickup. Man, you could just crawl up into the hood and work on stuff. And that 300 inline 6 was a known bombproof piece of gear. They're probably going for a pretty penny nowadays if you can find an unsalted one.

Anyway, good luck - lookin' good goin' forward.

73 Vette I bought it in 1982 but had relatively little time to work on it, or use it until now.
All original - medium blue paint / 350 L82 engine - all numbers match.

A Porsche AND the new Model Corvette, I would-be arguing all day with myself for which one to drive, trading off every other. day would seem like infidelity.

I rebuilt the Porsche in my garage from the ground up (motor done by a pro tho) but every other wear part I replaced...the whole suspension, brakes, all of teh rubber bushings/torsion bars...a great deal of electrical bits etc.... rides like new but firmer as it now weighs in at 2300 lbs rather than the stock 2700.. I did the body work too, but had it professionally painted.

That vette is a lot of car for the money....

That vette is a lot of car for the money....How's the handling now on the Porsche with the change in weight? Is it pretty neutral throughout the speed range or is it like oversteer on demand at the touch of your toe?
