Five construction workers were hospitalized Thursday after an unexploded World War II era phosphorous bomb at Patch Barracks was accidently struck, releasing some of the gas.

Phosphorous bomb? Glad it didn't detonate.

I was at Patch Barracks from '81 to '83 and we never had this type of excitement.

That they find more than 2000 tons of ordnance each year is incredible.

This was from one farmer's field in one afternoon near Verdun. I can imagine heavily aerial-bombed parts of Germany are still rife with UXO.
