I carried the Sig 226 on duty in my PD when we were restricted to 9MM. I bought the 220 .45 later when the department allowed us to carry .45's. I liked the 226 for it's (15) Rd mags and the way it shot for me. The pistols are shown with a Milt Sparks IWB holster and IWB Mag holder. The holster worked for both pistols; however, the mag holder only worked for the .45 (220). They both came with the fixed front sight, so I wasn't able to get night sights without major gunsmithing. :munchin

I've always liked the look of the 226. What's it like to shoot?

Nice grips! I'm putting Hogue rubber grips (w/o finger grooves) on my 226, as well as a short trigger for my small hands :o :D .

I always enjoyed shooting the 226, it was like shooting a .22 to me! I pointed well and fit my hand real good. :D

The grips on the Sig 220 .45 are Hogue rubber grips. The ones on the 226 are Sig wooden grips. :lifter

Does anyone still use Pachmeyr?

BTW, i love 226, nice, sturdy 'easy/smooth' to shoot.

Way back when, Astra made a model that was an exact copie of the 226 at a fraction of the price, and, yes a fraction of the quality.
