I was watching a few documentaries about American politics and realized that movies are a lot more realistic than we think they are. Take for example the life and times of President Thomas "Tug" Benson and Vice President Selina Meyers...
President Thomas "Tug" Benson can never seem to remember people’s first name.
Or last name.
Or rank.
Or job title.
Frequently, he says three or four completely random things in the same conversation. He is easily confused. He tells lies about his past that are hilariously overblown such as his inference that has fought in every major battle of the past century or two, including being wounded by a bazooka at Little Bighorn...
...or was it Okinawa?

He is a man that is always confused about his surroundings…
…the identities of the people who talk to him
…even his own past.
The guy talks like Charlie Kelly is his main speech writer:
Hello fellow American.
This you should vote me.
I leave power good.
Thank you... Thank you.
If you vote me I'm hot.
Taxes they'll be lower son.
The democratic vote for me is right thing to do Philadelphia.
So do.

Then of course there is the beautiful and charismatic Vice President Selina Meyers.
Vice President Selina Meyers is a former senator with a failed run at the presidency before being asked to be the winning candidate's running mate. VP Meyers is essentially powerless and disregarded by most other important officials, leading to various humiliations and indignities. The V.P. finds herself increasingly ignored by the president, and often demoted to trivial matters within the administration.
She contemplates challenging the incumbent president for the party's nomination in light of his political weakness, but the issue is mooted when he abruptly resigns, allowing her to become the president.

Draw your own conclusions.

What's that old saying:
You want to hide something, hide it in plain sight.

Hollywood does it quite well.

I fear they are not just "similar" but live recreations of Tinsel Town Reality :(

President Thomas 'Tug' Benson:
Here's the target area.

Bob Vila: << local breakfast taco
That's Minnesota, sir.

President Thomas 'Tug' Benson:
Damn it, man, that's the genius of my plan. Why go over there to fight? We can do it right here at home.

Bob Vila:
Sir, the enemy is over there.

President Thomas 'Tug' Benson:
Then we'll fly them over here. Their families too. We'll teach them to skate... Do I have to think of everything?.
