Since words like “Bragg” and “Benning” and “Polk” hurt, and if I use the wrong made-up pro-noun for a trans-testicle-unicorn with purple pubes, how about…..
“We, the People” start using the correct (as in what the actual document says) term for the United States Federal Government….
You know, a Republic….. as in a rule of Law over Government where by the People delegate certain functions to the government but retain “Inalienable Rights”….
Or how about we teach that “Shall Faithfully Execute the laws” means that the executive branch WILL enforce the international boarder and the naturalization laws as passed by the Congress….
Or how about we go with “Shall make No Law” part about how “dis-information” is actually Protected and the Citizens can say ANYTHING they want….
Or then there is my personal favorite phrase… you know… “Shall not be Infringed”….
Yeah… words actually do hurt…. So I could see maybe calling some random “hurtful confederate general” base what ever the hell you want or even use what ever personal pro-nown you want… just use the words that I actually know the definitions of the way they were written!

DOLIt used to be part of pre-Constitutional Virginia. After the Revolution - around 1786 before convention to modifiy Articles of Confederation - what did the movers & shakers immediately want to do ('cause they wuz broke)? How about "let's tax the pioneer landowners to pay our war debt, that will drive them into debtor's prison and we can pick up the land on the cheap." East Tennesseean (western VA) pioneers cleaned their muskets and briefly seceded to become the State of Franklin. I like that. Imagine not wantng to be lorded over by oligarchs in Williamsburg.

"VD" has been eliminated. :D
Its not lined with Starbucks yet. When they raised the drinking age years ago, it killed off the bars, and “other” establishments. When I’m in the area I see few soldiers. Most of the privates seem to frequent north Columbus now.

Was stationed there for three years and I have to say that Liberty just doesn't sound right. Bragg was just shorter and easier. We never said Fort before saying it either. Are any of the other posts being considered going to be named after Generals who fought for the North or who participated in other wars? I can hardly wait for some of the other suggestions.
Fort Geronimo? Fort Chavez? Fort King? How about Fort Fonda? :D

Daughter up for combined grad parties for #1 & #3 grand-daughters. When she gets back to Augusta I'll have her run on over to the PX and get some kind of legacy wear or something that reflects our Signal school-house.
I don't have anything against Ike per se but I already associated Eisenhower with that WW-II footprint hospital they had there. (Reading suggests that Gordon was somewhat of a Minie-ball magnet and it's amazing he survived; not a guy to stand too close to on the battlefield.)
