I sure hope someone in the 5-Sided Outhouse is taking notes.

Ukraine's showing the world what the future of land/sea warfare looks like.

They are not numerically the biggest, not mentally the best, nor are they technology giants, but they sure know how to take the drone/bot weapons to the max.

Articles like this one should be on a list of classic(future) teaching points at the military academies.

I'll defer to the learned one who will argue that Vlad is using 18th-century tactics of mass over brains, but I would also argue that drone/bot warfare will whoop ANY army.

We aren't there yet, but I think in the near future the catchphrase "air superiority" is also going to be completely rebranded as a battlespace tactic?

To quote Winston Churchill: Air superiority is the ultimate expression of military power.

This ain't your granddaddy's war :munchin

Ukraine destroys 'significant' number of Russian armored vehicles in failed river crossing, UK says

Images of eastern Ukraine destruction add to ‘heavy losses’ that Russia has been accumulating in the war

Everyone is going to have to carry a shotgun for protection from all the drones coming at them....

The only counter argument I would have is that unless you’re standing on it, you don’t control it. Without an Infantryman holding ground it’s just a moving mass of air with random people / machines flying through it. The resources (which is why ALL war is fought) will belong to the one side that actually holds the ground.

Agreed,, I think the individual grunt is safe until the drone/bots are much cheaper.

The current state of the technology would suggest that Ships, Planes, Choppers, Tanks, and other high-value fixed position targets are not safe.

The problem is the technology is developing at warp speed.

Remember the giggles when that kid that purchased Twitter said he would be flying commercial passenger flights to the ISS a couple of yrs ago?

If you asked anyone this past January "what are Ukraine's odds of lasting 10 days"

...it's all for naught - we are only a few generations away from living the existence of the Morlocks and the Eloi.

Everything above ground - including the drones - will belong to the Putins, Clintons, Gates, and Pelosis while the rest of us live under ground and feast on the sweet tender flesh of their offspring.
