"Houthi rebels have stormed the American embassy in Yemen and taken hostages, the Washington Free Beacon reported Thursday.

State Department officials told the Free Beacon that “the majority of the detained have been released, but the Houthis continue to detain additional Yemeni employees of the embassy.”......."

Wonder how long it will take the State Dept to confirm no Americans are being held.

Some how this brings back memories. Just - Can't - Put - My - Finger - On - It.

These were local national employees, taken from a facility that we stopped operating out of 6 years ago? Do I have that correct?

Houthi rebels have reportedly invaded the defunct US embassy in Yemen’s capital, seizing documents and equipment. They also detained three locals working with the Americans, in addition to 22 security staff captured earlier.

A group of Houthis breached the US compound on Wednesday and seized “large quantities of equipment and materials,” according to a report by Al-Masdar News. The raid comes almost a week after three Yemeni nationals who worked for the US were allegedly “kidnapped” from a private home in Sana’a. Another 22 Yemenis, most of whom worked as security for the US embassy complex, have been detained in recent weeks as well.

The #US is also concerned about the breach of the compound that was used by the Embassy prior to the suspension of ops in 2015. “We call on the Houthis to immediately vacate it and return all seized property,” official says.

The United States has called on Yemen’s Houthi rebels to release an unspecified number of detained Yemenis who work for the US embassy in the capital, Sanaa.

The compound that previously served as the embassy – operations were moved to Saudi Arabia years ago because of Yemen’s war – has been breached, a State Department spokesperson told the AFP news agency on Thursday.

Well, I sure hope there was nothing sensitive or of value left behind.

Are we still permitted to use harsh language?

TR

It depends on who the harsh language is targeting. It has to be an “approved” enemy
If harsh language is levied against a seated democrat dutifully advancing the approved agenda; harsh language is equal to or greater than extremism.
…probably even a little racist

Now - if you are pointing out the systemic injustices inherent within the tenets of conservatism - let ‘er rip - you are cleared hot from the IP
