If General Milley did in fact undermine civilian authority, would his resigning cancel a possible Court Marshall?

No
Thoroughly Modern Milley :D
That sounds treasonous to me. I wonder how Washington or Jeffersons would have handled a problem like this?
What could go wrong here:
"Tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, the @UnderSecArmy will officially introduce Special Agent Gregory D. Ford as the first civilian director of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command."

You can thank the 'all we care about is SHARP' Ft Hood report for that.
Razor is spot-on.
Is there any truth to the rumor that the Army is coordinating with the Navy for hawser of sufficient girth and lifting capacity to hang this fat bastard?

Every single bureaucrat in our government (military and civilian) spends a portion of their day wondering how they can top the last spectacle.
You got a n0bel (small 'n' capital zero) prize for letting a couple middle eastern dudes use your pen to sign an agreement...
Challenge accepted -
I'm gonna endorse some shenanigans with the contras and just say I dont remember anything...
Thats nothing - watch this - I'm gonna puke on the Japanese PM
Hahahaha... rookie - I'm going to get a BJ by a government clerk, sodomize her with a cigar, and then stare straight into the camera and ask the judge to define the word "is"
Good one boss...
...watch me score this n0bel prize for claiming that Manhattan will be under more water than the lost city of Atlantis by the end of the decade.
That...
...is a good one
Al.
I....
...am gonna one up you.
I've got a phone, a pen, and a Nobel prize just for NOT being George Bush.
...and just to kick it up, I'm going to drone strike a US citizen and send Navy SEALs into Pock e stahn
...pfft
I'm going to DARE you fuckers to impeach me, beat it, get impeached again, beat it
...again
and STILL have a higher approval rating than the guy that bought 80 million votes to become POTUS
Oh yeah, well, I'm gonna fuck corn pops mom, drive a tractor trailer, work a lumber job in Idaho, with hold a billion dollars in aide payments until they drop a law suit that would implicate my son, touch a bunch of kids inappropriately, make sweet love to a martian, steal fizzy lifting drinks, invent the question mark, march in civil rights protests, get arrested while visiting Nelson Mandela and you know...
...the thing
There's no bottom to this barrel folks - just a never ending line of mutts trying to prove that...
...well, nothing. They arent trying to prove anything. Its all just a big "fuck you" funded by we the people.

I have always found that insane.
- Numbers of active duty personnel for 4 main branches = 1,365,000 (incl civilian staff)
- Allowed number of generals (1-4 star) = 653
- That's a general for every 2,090 personnel.
Crazy!
Well, other than sleeping at a Holiday Inn Express last night...I watched Patton last night...a Real General...made me feel good again...until the movie was over...

At one point in Iraq, i counted over 200 GO/Flags in the green zone. 2-effing-hundred. No wonder our shit was all fucked up.

Sometimes I wonder if GO billets aren't simply created for the express purpose of having another "who's a good boy" that will be beholden to the politikritters.
Let’s have a show of hands…
Given the current track record of most current day flag officers - do you really want any of them directly responsible for the health, welfare, and tactical employment of MORE than 2090 human lives at any one time ???
The way I see it - if our successes over the last 20 years is any indicator - we probably need to see MORE flag officers - let’s try to spread the incompetence thin enough that it doesn’t cause any more failure than we are already saddled with…
More is better and at this rate - what harm can it do

lol, classic! :D
Kind of a derivation of the Peter principle
People in a hierarchy tend to rise to their maximum level of incompetence.
S
In April 1945 we had four 5 Stars and 13 four Stars for a force of about 8 million in the Army/Air Corp (exact number of 1 Star and above is unknown due to...wait for it, shitty record management). Today we have 16 four Stars for a force of about 1.2 million.
Even worse, these over priced LT's retire and get onto every Board associated with military contract companies so their involvement is permanent.
The "No Officer Left Behind" program inside the beltway is doing well.
Additionally, I remember during Clintons rein a number of 4 Star pipe hitters being dumped, this went on for 8 years, so that's almost a generation of O's that learned if nothing happened on my watch I will probably be promoted. Add another 8 years of Barry and his She Hulk bride you have basically neutered the majority of senior O's (O6 and above). Anyone that worked in Iraq or Afghanistan had to observe the weak and pathetic leadership provided at the Division and Corp levels. To remove a piece of kit like a neck gator for GPF would take a letter from a 2 Star.

So what happens when you call your boss a liar and your boss is the president of the United States?
What’s that other thing called when the military leadership actively undermine the president?

I couldn't agree more, Brother...especially with the bolded part. Very well said indeed!
Watching those fucking mutts today was like watching an episode "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories" on the Chapelle Show.
"I won't share what I said with the president behind closed doors"
"so, here's what I said to the president behind closed doors"
"No, we didn't leave any Americans behind"
"Yes, there are hundreds of Americans stuck in Trashcanistan"
"No, we didn't need to have extra troops in the country"
"Sir, I said we should keep troops in the country"
Somewhere in the world, there is cluster fuck taking place at a shit show being held inside of a dumpster fire that is parked next to a circus...
...and the participants are laughing their asses off at Americas highest levels of military leadership
Based on what was televised today - tomorrow we should all expect to hear testimony from the strong man, Bozo the Clown, the bearded lady, and Joe Joe the Dog Faced Boy
Lloyd Austin said during the clown show yesterday
Retaining Bagram would have required putting as many as 5,000 U.S. troops into harms way just to operate and defend it
My question when I heard that my question was what was the deciding factor in not choosing to send 5000 troops into harms way to operate and defend Bagram, versus sending 5800 troops into harms way to operate and defend Kabul International Airport?
From what I have read Bagram was a far more secure facility and much easier to defend than the Kabul.
McKenzie said he wouldn't say what he recommended to Biden in confidence.
Translation: I Farted but will not admit it.
Senate: Thank you General we know you have been doing important work.
Milley: This country doesn't want generals figuring out what orders we're going to accept and do or not. That's not our job. The principle of civilian control of the military is absolute, it's critical to this republic.
Except when they were President Trumps orders...
Milley: my dad didn't get a choice to resign at Iwo Jima

Parents of Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller call for resignation of top military leaders (New York Post)
https://apple.news/A2ypNutXyQh-CP3XN3OWcYA
Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller has landed in the brig after he ripped into military leadership following the devastating suicide bombing at the Kabul airport, which killed 13 US service members and scores of Afghans.
Sounds like they don't want him talking to Congress. Also, does a military arrest and conviction stop him from holding political office??
I find it ironic that the government is willing to charge and probably prosecute him for speaking the truth while they ignored the many “crimes” that were pretty near treasonous during the war. The priorities of politics!

I find it pretty disgusting they lock up citizens peacefully protesting their government in solitary confinement without bail while simultaneously letting those accused of capital crimes back out before the ink dries.
Damn country upside down right now!

Rep. Mike Rogers finally asked Milley about a topic I'd questioned for awhile. Milley had said that he had a healthy portfolio of intel, including going back to being in Trump's PDB, that the Chinese were concerned we'd attack them. Milley calls his counterpart General Li out of concern for that and to dispel that notion. General Li says "thanks!" and then gets in General Lee and drives away...
My take on General Li's next move is to start the witch hunt to locate the source in his midst that gave the US their concerns that generated Milley's call and either neutralize it or play it back against us. Unfortunately the follow-up will have to be in classified session. Those types of calls may have been considered de rigeur over decades of Cold War practice but, in my view, that's the kind of insight (sources & methods) you don't give to an adversary, the very fact that you know something that he doesn't think you're capable of knowing.
Are you fuckin' kidding me?

I believe that that is their plan. Break the long line of "toxic" males joining the military and replace them with socially engineered drones to turn loose on the populace. This may be why they want to draft females (and the made up genders). That works with the police, too. Defund, depopulate, refund, repopulate with the socially engineered drones.
