There's an article on the ABC news website about this operation to rescue Afghan special operators and assets and their families. No link, as even my Adblocker can't stop all the annoying and intrusive content ABC wants to force onto its readers, but you can probably find it easily using the Google-fu.
Positive waves and prayers out for those involved. There have been reports of some casualties, mixed in with the reports on casualties from ISIS terrorism, but details are sketchy.

I read that article and from what I gather ABC was allowed to view the operation as long as they kept it secret until it was finished.
Kudos to all those involved. A well conducted exercise (discounting the IED situation, which no one had control over). God bless those that took part.
God Bless those guys.....

Perfect!
Just the other night, a dear Iranian friend of my daughter and I shared a traditional desert that was prepared and shared over a prayer for her family and friends in Afghanistan.
I sent her the link with a note that her prayers are being answered!
Publishing an article like that while operations are still ongoing is stupid and irresponsible. It just got a lot harder to keep that Op going.

You are correct, sir. But isn't that what the enemedia do all of the time?
Chief....I think they had wrapped up prior to media release....that was my first thought too.
And one of the key figures involved was the Maj. that went native, and disparaged for it. Kudos

It was my understanding that these warriors were finished with the mission, hence the publication of the article. I hope that to be true.

Great work, guys.
Congratulation to all :lifter
The back story, the organizational structure that enabled the group to assemble, be funded, and logistically supplied and deployed is remarkable, worthy of serious study.

More to the point… it should worry ANY would-be tyrant or group of wanna-be tyrants as to just who and what is waiting on the other side of that line they are just itching to cross….. just sayin’. DOL/RLTW

Lest we forget the ultimate merc-movie?? :munchin+1 So many quotables. HH6 digs that one out of the cabinet during the winter more than I do.
Given the apparent perfidy & treachery of Blinken I'm still concerned for their safety.

Well... nice piece here by a Breiitbart girl (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/09/02/pineapple-express-americans-afghanistan/).
Pineapple Express to Launch Phase II for Americans Left in Afghanistan
“We’re having to move from what was a very network-centric starfish kind of thing to way more of a deliberate recovery. That focuses on two things, moving people to safety, getting them immediately out of harm’s way from retribution and targeting and then ultimately some of them to freedom,” said Scott Mann, a retired Green Beret who co-founded the Pineapple Express.
He also goes on with the interviewer as to how the 'pineapple' recognition signal came about, as well as how they got the other SOF factions roped in.
Pretty good piece.

An excellent movie. Have it on DVD. (I especially liked the retribution delivered to "Sir" Edward at the end.)

Apparently one of the TF members is an alum of nearby UW-La Crosse.
Write-up in the La Crosse Tribune here (https://lacrossetribune.com/news/local/education/campus-connection-uw-l-alum-coordinates-daring-evacuations-in-afghanistan/article_aacd19d7-5b40-5ad7-883e-09a95287a355.html#tracking-source=featured-homepage).
A UW-La Crosse alum and former Green Beret with the U.S. Army Special Forces is helping rescue hundreds of Americans, Afghan soldiers and other U.S. allies from the oppressive grip of the Taliban.
Zac Lois, ’06, is a member of Task Force Pineapple, a volunteer group of veterans coordinating movements for U.S. troops and allies on the ground in Afghanistan as they attempt to navigate to safety, often under the cover of darkness.
To date, the team has helped evacuate more than 1,000 people, many of whom took flights out of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul. However, thousands remain trapped in the capital city, which fell to Taliban in the days after the U.S. military withdrawal.
“The people we’re trying to evacuate … we’ve had relationships with them for a long time. Some of them are Afghan people we’ve served with in combat,” says Lois, who had deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan before leaving the military in 2015. “In the military, we say: ‘Leave no man or woman behind.’ That extends to this as well.”
