The decision by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to use a private donation to send 50 National Guard troops to Texas is a first.

I saw that too, and thought that it sets new precedents on what a Governor can do in another's state. That doesn't even address the optics of Mercs for hire!
I need to chew on this for awhile to see how I feel about it.
How would I feel if Roy Cooper did the same thing?
We live in interesting times - the current POTUS refuses to speak out on human right atrocities in China or Cuba but his administration seems excited about inviting the UN into our nation to verify that we are a nation of racists…
Everything - state and federal - is deconstructed under the microscope of sensationalism and hypocrisy so I’m just not sure how I feel about this kind of behavior anymore.
Interesting times indeed.
