America and Its Allies are Unprepared for the Next Great War

An interesting Opinion piece.

Bottom line up front ...."...But when it comes to the defense of the country, there are no alternatives. The U.S. military either has the size, readiness, and equipment it needs to win in war, or it doesn’t. The consequences, in either case, are extraordinary. "

I'm going to say it... We are MORE than ready for what comes next.

We are getting after diversity and inclusivity more than ever before.
We are diving into issues like systemic racism, and extremism at every level of leadership.
We are working towards equity of outcome.
We have redefined the paradigm of "gender-neutral" when it comes to accessing physical fitness and readiness.
We are developing body armor and other PPE systems to better fit the female figure.
We have maternity flight suits to meet the needs of our pregnant warriors and our most lethal units are being led by women.
We have finally allowed women to wear bulky hairstyles even though they may interfere with certain types of mission-essential headgear and men can wear fingernail polish
...name just one of our great power competitors that are putting anywhere near as much effort into championing social justice as the US military.

Name one single big power competitor that has reprioritized the threat of man-caused global climate change as their number one national security threat. We are positioned to absolutely dominate across the full spectrum of social justice threats facing modern mankind on the global stage. America is leading the way when it comes to issues that really matter. Dakota Wood is a good writer and I applaud Dakota's passion, but Dakota is WAY out of touch with the things that REALLY matter in today's US Armed Forces, and Dakota's policy assessment exquisitely demonstrates how out of touch Dakota really is.
...I apologize for using Dakota's name so many times - but I am unaware of Dakota's preferred pronouns and I dont want to be presumptive.

And we have our top military leader addressing the most urgent readiness issues of any military:

It's a crying shame when the important topics of the day could easily be posted in a humor thread.

We could move threads like this into the humor thread and the transition would be seamless. We could move it, continue to comment, continue to be snarky and sarcastic...
...and people would still need to check to make sure it was actually in the humor section.

There is a reason that sites like The Babylon Bee and The Onion are always under fire by the left as being disinformation - because all news has become a satire of the human condition. The only things more disturbing is how many leaders will support the effort - then lean into blaming our social problems on systemic racism - or they will double down with Chinese information warfare.
...its all just Chinese bots and Trump supporters that are dividing our nation.

The new bogeyman - we wouldn't be America without a bogeyman
The British are coming
Remember the Alamo
Nazis
Commies
Ter'rists
...now it's just wrong thinking Americans - and Chinese hackers

The next "great war" - I don't even know what that means.
I've spent much of the last 20 years thinking ALL war was great.
