No political motivation here at all... move along
WASHINGTON — Congressional Democrats will introduce legislation Thursday to expand the Supreme Court from nine to 13 justices, joining progressive activists pushing to transform the court.
The move intensifies a high-stakes ideological fight over the future of the court after President Donald Trump and Republicans appointed three conservative justices in four years, including one who was confirmed days before the 2020 election.
The new definition of reform is "control"
The political parties in the United States are hell bent on obliterating the separation of powers.

Do you want civil war? Because that is how you get civil war.
I do not see any reason for them to stack the court. After the last election no republican will ever be in the position to nominate another conservative judge to the high court. They just need to bide their time.

Its not about biding time - this is a political "in your face" moment and the left NEVER squanders an "in your face" moment.

Why stop with 13, let every state have at least 1 Justice on the highest court and include a more diverse population of the make-up. More POC, non-lawyers, Illegal aliens, convicted felons serving prison sentences, enemy combatants, billionaires, Let's get more diversity in everything.

I hear you but wouldn't it be nice to see them take the high road for a change?

I agree, but for a different reason.
The leftists don’t need to stack the court. With few exceptions, the FNGs have voted with the undocumented democrat, the dreaded justice roberts.
We hoped the FNGs were conservatives, dedicated to upholding the constitution. Their denial of standing to every challenge of the fraudulent vote of 03NOV2020 was proof enough for me that they have feet of clay or are squarely in the pockets of the leftists.

That singular failure, that clear act of cowardice, will not be forgotten by many.
