Democrats make federal election standards a top priority.....

Democrats, asserting constitutional authority to set the time, place and manner of federal elections, want national rules they say would make voting more uniform, accessible and fair across the nation. The bill would mandate early voting, same-day registration and other long-sought reforms that Republicans reject as federal overreach.

The legislation first introduced two years ago, known as the For the People Act, also would give independent commissions the job of drawing congressional districts,

Ahhhh, yes. The old Article 1, Section 4, Clause 1 trick. Missed it by that much.

The Census office has been waiting, like a sleeper-cell, for its mother-ship to get into office. I can't wait for the results now to get cooking. This is where folks "might" start remembering the names of the folks in their state legislatures. Republican legislatures now get to play with what the left has been accusing them of.

Should be a full-value E-ticket ride, as there are rumblings of buyer's remorse already from some of those social meditator type people. Like boyfriend making really fine bucks out in the oil patch calls girl friend back at their abode and rips her a new one for voting for Uncle Joe. He's now laid off, as are 40 of his buddies out there. He's coming home, and he's NOT a happy camper.
