According to CNN extremists within the US are now plotting the overthrow of the US Government with Baofeng UV5R's.

Since anyone who supported Trump, is now an extremist in CNN's eyes. I'm sure that any Trump supporter buying guns or ammo, or extra food, or fuel for their vehicles could be construed as doing so for a revolutionary purpose. Anything to feed their narrative that Trump supporters are violent radicals in need of being monitored and controlled.
Likewise, I'm sure that the Proletariat at CNN are also quite bothered by an availability of radio systems that cannot be adequately controlled as well....

Ironic that, in the midst of screaming fire about radios, the article admits to the conspiracy of the oligarchy in censorship. I'm sure the FCC will have one of their fox-hunting cells from Spectrum Enforcement headed to Portland in a jiffy.

BLM and antifa have been using FRS/GMRS for months with good OPSEC. Now all of a sudden the FCC is coming out and saying they are going to go after people using amateur radio of all types for any criminal activity.
This just tells me what a "Deep State" we have.

Happy Regime Change Eve. The talking heads would probably explode if they knew of the potential mischief from old keypounders and a PROPERLY used OTP. But as you point out, the AAR's from across the country this year show the ubiquitous Baofeng or other bubble-pak unit as a force multiplier, especially in as fluid an environment as an Antifan direct action. Was it Stalin that said "quantity has a quality all its own" ?

Interesting...I've heard of tap code but never really looked into it. Thanks for the link back to that post.
I'm embarking on obtaining General and Extra licenses. Been thinking about re-learning CW, something I said I would never do after graduating from the Navy CW school back in the late 70's!

Get your General; the Tech & General are not that dissimilar - the Extra is a different critter, so good luck. But CW is the killer of solar remorse. And there are always some FOGs sitting around on 80 & 40m just waiting for someone returning to the faithful to have a low-speed brushup contact.
