Ok we all want free, fair and trustworthy elections. This is not fucking rocket science...

Now, (I’m embarrassed even asking this) how do owe actually achieve such trustworthy elections in the most advanced, and free country on the planet?

For shits and giggles I submit the following for consideration and to get the conversation started:

1). Not one day for elections - but three (3) days - in person. Three days, in person with valid ID.

2). And, old fashioned absentee ballots - only.

3). No vote harvesting, no mass mail-ins like it’s for publisher’s clearinghouse. 3 days to vote in-person with valid ID or absentee ballot with all the verifications.

It’s not sexy, the high tech people will scream...but it’s hard to hack in-person ballots and old fashioned absentee ballots.

We give folks three fucking days to get their ass to the polls.

4). Cameras, cameras, everywhere at polling places and all vote counting operations.

5). And, the chain of custody process will be upgraded befitting the importance of the process.

Other than incorrectly calling me a racist - tell me why I’m wrong.

With regard to voter ID, I’d say use some kind of biometric enabled device (you likely already have one in your smart phone) to ensure that ONLY registered voters can vote, and then ONLY vote 1 Single Time.

This removes the argument of the communists that somehow Voter ID is “racist” against people without a valid ID. Everybody has biometrics (use fingerprints and / or faces).......

The Tech is there, so USE it!

I think the elections in Haiti in the mid 1990's and the elections in Iraq circa 2006 had less fuckery than our crooked politicians oversee here in the land of high cotton.

Everything you cite is a measure that has already been destroyed and done away with by politicians that DONT WANT a straight shooter election process.
OUr nations selected criminals can't afford a pure process - there's no money in it.

Your list is admirable - but as likely to be prosecuted as my list of celebrity hot tub bimbos.

Nice to dream about - not gonna happen.

Because then the Democrats can’t effectively cheat and stuff the ballot boxes and voting machines. Why do you think they love no voter ID?

Abolish the 24th amendment. If you don’t pay you don’t play. If you have no skin in the game you don’t get to choose the team captain.

The process must change and the fix is relatively simple.

I’m with Bubba on using biometrics.

Let’s include a legal requirement for a rolling count beginning immediately upon receipt of a ballot. By midnight on the third day everything but absentee must be done.

How about the polls are all open the same hours east to west coast - 14 hours each day opening and closing at the same time (obviously with time differences).

Box, your list (with pictures) of favorite hot tub bimbos would be an instant post favorite...in the name of transparency of course.

What if we come up with a reasonable system and it gets presented to our representatives ?

Biometrics, cameras, increased in-person voting in exchange for all the mass-mail-in bullshit.

This might be considered as important by some as the 2A letter.

If this thing ever goes hot I’d like to think that reasonable avenues were presented and explored - then its on them.

Any “Letter writing campaign” will only continue to fall on deaf ears (Box is right, the clowns in government don’t want to actually represent us, they want power and anyone who questions them are to be crushed).

We are at that point where EVERY Republic has been before, but unlike the previous attempts, “We, The People” have a couple of tools at our disposal that were put there at the beginning just for these reasons / eventualities.

The ONLY real solutions our Republic has left to deal with this Tyranny are:

I. Article V Convention (the ‘bloodless’ version of the re-set)

II. Amendment 2 (the most likely and also most dangerous) bloody re-set:

1) They ban guns

2) They try to enforce the ban

3) We, the People say NO and start shooting anyone who tries to take them

4) The Free People of this land Declare ourselves Independent from their tyranny

5) We, the People form a “More Perfect Union” and write a set of laws that restricts the actions of those who are placed into power to “establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this ‘set of laws’”

6) Wait another 245 years for the natural cycle of all Republics to start over


But hey, those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it and all that jazz.....

Too many politicians from both sides of the aisle, and too many powerful influencers are benefactors of rigged elections which makes the chances of peaceful remedy to the situation less than zero.

The Battle of Athens (TN) not Greece.

Our framers put all the solutions in the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They were perhaps the smartest most selfless class of elites that ever walked in Gods footsteps on the face of the earth.

This battle is long from being over and if the left wing socialists think they have won something it’s only the prize for starting something they can’t finish.

I agree with Bubba, there are solutions that have yet to be implemented and even the police and military will be useless to stop it.

...we stopped electing them decades ago - the party selects them for us because that's how campaign finance law works

Our SElected representation then assumes office and works JUST diligently enough to stay in office while slowly working their way onto the committees that provide the best fundraising opportunities and the most leverage over the constituency.

Then we allow them to use name recognition to stay in office longer than most pro sports team remains in one state. We get online and vent - but very rarely do we go beyond that...

It stopped being about "partisanship" a long time ago.
There are no more republicans and democrats in DC. Just the in-crowd and the out crowd.
Some of them with names like McCain, Romney, Collins, Burr, and others- have more gears than a tour de France road bike.

Elections are all that matters. Maintaining the status quo with election integrity is paramount - those in power will always need to retain control over who counts the votes - we the people cant be trusted with such lofty tasks.
what we really need is that Mandalorian guy and that cool black bladed lightsabre.
Lord knows there are plenty of folks that need a good lightsabering these days

For what it is worth, the problem is not just corrupt politicians, at least in the narrow sense we usually use the word "corrupt". Whether politician or activist or average Joe, if you genuinely believe that your political rivals are not merely people with a competing vision of the best way to achieve the common weal, but are in fact evil, ignorant power-hungry fascist bigots*, and if you consider the motto "by any means necessary" to be perfectly reasonable, why would you mind a little fraud that happened to benefit the good guys and disadvantage the evildoers?


* This is bipartisan by the way. I myself consider many left-wing politicians and activists to be ignorant power-hungry fascists, though I try to give most people the benefit of the doubt.

Beyond the agreement that there is such a thing as legitimate competing ideas - I believe there is also such a thing as corrupt voters.

It takes corrupt voters to repeatedly elect observably corrupt politicians: garbage in = garbage out.

Concur.

The people are the largest problem not the founding documents...any political modification involves those same corrupt people relying on the same suspect electoral process to get those people there.

I still believe that the “people focus” on fundamentals...has more potential than any process relying on the current crop of most politicians...

...and the political elite appointees who history has proven will sell out the Constitution for the right pussy, the right plumb seat on a board of directors or a consulting gig on CNN or MSNBC.
