New thread, I get the feeling we will be talking about her for many years to come.
Congratulations to Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett!
Well done all who saw fit to nominate, confirm and appoint this outstanding woman, mother, professor and judge to the high court.
Shout out to Harry Reid, without him this would not have been possible.
Shout out to President Trump, thank you for fulfilling your duty to appoint highly qualified and skilled justices to the federal courts. May you win re-election and continue to protect our Republic for many years to come.

Amen.
And let us hope that ACB becomes the new Scalia and Thomas put together.

YES! What a happy news :)
Thank you for all involved in the fray.
The SCOTUS is why I voted for 45.
My portfolio tanked. My colleagues ridiculed me. Social media gets sickening. Some friends left. Parents thought I'm brain-washed. ALL worth it!
Thank you Mr. President! Best wishes with the next term. Long live the Republic. One Nation, Under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all :lifter

A Republic; if you can keep it.
;)
Originally I was afraid that the R's would not carry through with the nomination. Cowing to the left is generally the norm for them. So kudos to them for growing a pair and pushing this through. The outrage from the left is beyond laughable the R's did exactly what the left would have done had the situation been reversed. Frostfire I would like to think that better days are ahead but I am not gonna hold my breath.
Wonderful news, I was happy to hear it. :lifter

Hahaha. NICE
Also fun to consider...
Clarence Thomas also gained confirmation with a 52-48 senate vote. The liberals were furious because Bush nominated a a conservative Black Judge with negative views on affirmative action.
Does anyone remember the name of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman when Clarence Thomas went through the nomination and confirmation process...

Chuck Schumer promised to pack the Court with more liberal justices to advance the Democrat/Communist/Socialist agenda If the dems take the senate. He must be stopped by electing GOP Republicans to keep the senate.

They don't have to muck with SCOTUS. They can create more appellate courts and populate them with their own DNA. 1st sentence in Article III gives her what she needs.

Just as with SCOTUS packing, if the RINOs ever take control what’s to stop them from making 5000 more appellate courts? It’s mutually assured destruction. They know that. Generally, empty threats. I’m more worried that ant1f@/b1m are going to burn down polling locations in red areas and riots after Nov3 in coordination with actual accountable politicians and msm support.

Do you mean the way they have been doing for the last several months?
Democrats have already knelt in support of their marxist army - why would elections be any different.

Glad the Republicans had the courage to get ACB on the bench. Now the dems are talking about packing the court. If Trump wins, HE should pre-emptively pack the court with six more hardcore conservative judges. That would really send the democrats over the edge...

Frankly, I think we're going to see increasing violence in advance of the election, not just after. Letter carriers taking ballots from 'red' neighborhoods to the dumpsters and the odd drop-box being set alight are just the beginning.
Trump wins --> they're PO'd as hell and go collectively berserkers.
Biden wins --> they're 'empowered' and go collectively berserkers.
Edit to add, keeping to the thread: The vitriol attendant to the recusal filings (which have started) against Justice Barrett is also only going to increase.
I hope SCOTUS justices have good security teams.

When I left 5th SFG I became a Dep US Marshal for a few years. I had the privilege of working a protective detail for Justice Thomas and had several conversations with him just BS‘ing about every day stuff. He was a hell of a good guy and very down to earth. A lot of people in his shoes have no interest in talking to the Joe Snuffy’s of the world but he’s quite the opposite. He’s an avid car guy and doesn’t pass up an opportunity to talk about his Corvette ZR1.

Plus he's an RVer and overnights at Walmarts. My guess is that he has some good conversations there, too. We also RON at Walmarts. I'd love to run into him.

His memoir "My Grandfarther's Son" was a great read.
