Re-arranging a couple of shelves yesterday, and coincidentally happened to lay hand on my signed copy of Don Burgett's "The Road to Arnhem" - got to meet him before he passed.
Regardless of how history has treated it in the end, a big Salute to those who may still be with us, and those who had to leave early.

I can't be the only one thinking how much I would have preferred jumping back then with that IDGAF mentality.
Not sure I could JMPI that group properly but would have been interesting
When did we start jumping mortars? I never thought about that but I can't remember a WW2 pic with that equipment.
One of the mortar squads in the 505th PIR prior to D Day.
You can see the squad equipment bundles to the left of the squad in the rear.
