Looks like nothing but a good smoke-session with plenty of drinking water. Wouldn't expect this to kill someone.

CHICO, California (AP) -- A California State University student died of "water intoxication" during hazing in the basement of a fraternity, authorities said Thursday.

Matthew Carrington, 21, died early Wednesday while drinking water from a five-gallon jug and doing exercises at the Chi Tau house near the Chico campus, said Chico Police Sgt. Dave Barrow.

An autopsy showed death was triggered by hyponatremia, a condition in which excess water in the body causes sodium levels in the blood to drop. Water is then absorbed into the blood and fluid builds up in the brain.

I lost one of my cousins to hyponatrema during the 2002 Marine Corps marathon. She was an otherwise healthy 35 year old woman with two very young children.

Isn't this also one of the possible problems of people on Ecstacy? I thought I saw on one of the TV shows that it is one of the more dangerous side effects of the drug.

Knucklehead drank 2 gallons of water over 45 minutes for a piss test.
Plus the guy is a loser.

2 days later and a whole bunch of poor pitiful me stories-all better.
Saw quite a bit of this at Knox with basic trainees and forced hydration by drill SGTs too. Neat to see.
