That you can execute a huge rat in the crawl space of a California dwelling with a .22 without your commie neighbors whining about a firearm being discharged within city limits. Heard it from a friend.

.22 caliber snake shot?
FMJ
Dog passed=bunny population explosion and girdled shrubbery. Grrr. Sears Roebuck .22 bolt gun and CB caps...even Mini Mike couldn't hear standing 10' away. The 'yotes will handle things when Sasha's scent fades...
.38 caliber snake shot in a repro 1871 open top conversion Colt....pack rat killer extraordinaire….and rattle snake reaper....

A good air rifle does an excellent job on varmints and is even quieter. Had a problem with squirrels in the attic. Now I don't and my wife could barely hear it downstairs. Those bastards dropped like a rock too.
I use these so I don't have to spend the night in a rat blind:

Honey “ What happened to the water pressure... do you hear that sound?”

Those are excellent traps...I bait them with rat poison outside for the pack rats...they love that rat poison....never an issue inside but they can fk up a vehicle.
they can fk up a vehicle.
I have had rat problems twice. They like the taste of the foam on vehicle air conditioners, plus electrical and brake lines.
We have rats big time in the Florida Keys and because the Keys have 6 indigenous species on the endangered list, you can't use kill-baits or kill-traps.
The Keys are also a National Bird, National Salt Water Crocodile, and Key Deer Sanctuary, BUT I will always be a Happy Conch :]
The biggest is the Gambian rat
A Gambian giant rat, caught in the Florida Keys. In 2007, officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission began extensive efforts to remove the rats – which average about 3 pounds in size but can grow up to 3 feet long and weigh up to 9 pounds, making them the world's largest rat – from Grassy Key. Jun 3, 2014
Threatened and endangered species of the Florida Keys include:
Schaus Swallowtail Butterfly
Lower Keys Marsh Rabbit
Key Largo Cotton Mouse
Key Largo Woodrat
Sea Turtles
American Alligator

I use peanut butter. It's cheaper and I like it, too. :D

The PPK/S is very handy and pocketable, but the sights bearly (1/64"?) clear the can tube. This makes the sight picture questionable at times. This target was at 25ft. The pistol does have it's limits.
My 22/45 is a better shooter but is a significantly larger package.
My tack driver is the S&W 41, but it's not threaded

My tack driver is the S&W 41, but it's not threaded :mad:As it should be. Those were sweet; don't EVER let it go (like I did). Anyone who's not handled one of those or one of the better grade High Standards has missed out. There's a reason that 41 was/is still a choice among Bullseye shooters for their rimfire stages.
