Personally, based on the one "full frontal" picture at the bottom of the article, I think it's a "he". Given the accuracy (or lack thereof) of Pentagon reports, I want to know what the handler says.
It's a body double. It doesn't even look like a Malinois. Except for the width of the nose, it looks more like a female Akita, which I know a little about. Our last Akita was that color. A pic with ears erect listening forward would help.

Hardly! We were at Will Rogers State Historic Park and they have Polo matches on weekends. She fancied herself a polo pony. :D
