Navy Times: Internal report exposes cocaine abuse, lax testing, inside SEAL Team 10, By: Geoff Ziezulewicz

Before they were caught last year, several SEAL Team 10 special warfare operators snorted cocaine or spiked their booze with the banned substance, often defeating military drug tests they termed “a joke,” according to an internal investigation obtained by Navy Times.

The Little Creek, Virginia-based command conducted urinalysis testing on April 9 and April 16, 2018, nabbing six SEALs for allegedly abusing cocaine and other banned substances.

Several SEALs told investigators they previously beat the testing program by swapping out tainted urine for clean samples — but they weren’t screened very often anyway.

“I never once got piss-tested on deployment or on the road, where I was using most often,” one busted SEAL said in a statement.

“When I was in Buenaventura, Colombia, I was using cocaine. I think I was the only one of the four SEAL TEAM TEN guys using cocaine there. It was everywhere.”

Nothing is for free, time for an in-depth CI investigation to find the next John Anthony Walker and crew.

Russian?
Chinese?
NK?
ISIS?

What FIS is handing out free coke to NSW members?

If that one SEAL they quoted was deployed to Buenaventura, Colombia, getting his hands on cocaine would have been really easy. He likely got it from a member of the Colombian units being trained by the SEALs there (they train the equivalent of a special boat unit along with special operations Colombian marines). Buenaventura is roughly the equivalent of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Cartel activity such as narco and human trafficking take place there with high frequency. Finding decapitated and otherwise dismembered bodies there is common.

I have a few stories of SEALs getting in some sort of trouble in Colombia, but I won't mention any of it here since we have lurkers. But, needless to say, they've had their share of disciplinary issues.

That is a very good and disturbing point. It would be very easy to blackmail them in such a situation.

I suppose to those outside of the SOF community, this is news. To those inside...just another example of their culture. I'm sure there'll be a book and movie deal, along with technical assistance with the latest video game. Later on it'll get glossed over as simple hazing.

Well, it couldn't have been all that bad - USSOCOM didn't post about it on Twitter.
