They are school-yard pranksters who get caught once in awhile. Needs to happen more often with more social-media swarming. I can see the new congress kritter Alexandria Occasionally-Conscious using Wikipedia, supported by Snopes, and the PR statement of "you could Google it, really."

I have ZERO use for that site.

Long-a-go they did accurate and timely fact-checking.
But that stopped when Clinton was elected.
