Two pilots of a T-34C involved in an alleged sky penis drawing over California skies in October have been grounded pending an investigation. The two pilots have not been punished as the investigation into the incident continues, the Washington Examiner reported.
The flight path of the T-34C was picked up on radar and posted to Twitter showing what appeared to be a penis. The aircraft belongs to Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 101, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, out of Miramar, California.
“The T-34C crew that are being investigated for flying a pattern resembling an obscene image are currently not flying pending the results of an ongoing investigation. Although not flying for the time-being, the two Marine Corps aviators are still providing vital squadron ground support functions,” Maj. Josef Patterson, a Marine spokesman, told Marine Corps Times in an emailed statement. Two Navy lieutenants received administrative punishments last year following a similar incident in which the pilots drew a sky penis over Washington State in an EA-18G Growler.
