De Oppresso Libre = "[to] Liberate the Oppressed."

But often the oppressed don't want to be liberated,
they just want to change places with the oppressors.
And the same motivations can be found in America.

Example:

Like it or not, Obamacare was the duly enacted legislation of a
prior administration, advanced by the former political party in
control. But the knee jerk reaction of the incoming political party
was to repeal it, with no functional replacement system to
enact. The punitive "get back at them" overcame sound analysis
of the good (keep it), the bad (repeal it), and the ugly (amend it) of
Obamacare. Instead the cry was "BHO did it, so we MUST undo it."

I hope the wild pendulum swings of politics -- like the wild swings
of the stock market recently -- will settle into a "meet in the middle,
with reasonable variations."

We'll see on the morning of November 7th.

The truth is normally in the middle, but facts tend to get overrun by rhetoric. 'Us vs Them' sells a lot of ads, makes a lot of money, and allows people to have mud puddles of thought when an ocean of information is out there to be had.

I would love to see a time when we go to the ballot box and, instead of seeing who we could vote for, we could only see their positions on the issues. No personalities. Just stances.

May reason prevail.

I agree political knee jerks and retribution is running wild but......the socialized Obamacare was shoved down the countries throats then sold over and over I would gamble my retirement and say most Americans have no idea of how it works hell the Democrats of the house signed it without knowing what it detailed.....remember"you need to sign it to know what's in it".....would this be participative by the people if we can't judge a bill because we can't see it before it is passed??? the economic implications and or how it would be paid for it is never free. The functional replacement is IMO to repeal it....I do not want government dictating my medical care and interfering with the market. Obamacare is a nightmare that was hurting financially those who could not afford regular healthcare by being punished for not payng for an approved plan the next step after this was a true government ran healthcare.....just like the other countries that are going bankrupt being supported by the economic powerhouses. Fuck Obamacare......the same socialist would never eliminate the big killers and causes of illness and death such as refined sugar, alcohol, prescribed and illegal drugs, poor healthy lifestyles....but they will impose healthcare insurance on poor people and then complain because the producers aren't giving up their billions to pay for it.

Good article....I do not like the way Trump acts at times I feel he gives fuel to Democrats too many sound bite opportunities....but he is the mouthpiece of America's outrage and why he was elected.

Healthcare in the US is beyond repair. Obamacare was written by unknown people and never debated.
I think it was written by the insurance companies and they can control congress.

From my viewpoint there are no good solutions. Either for healthcare or politicians

My health plan cost more than double what it did before Obamacare, with drastically higher deductibles and co-pays.

Prime example of how government will screw up anything it touches but does it anyway because "good intentions."

Honestly the government (Congress) screwed it up, BUT it was because BIG health insurance companies and Big Pharma paid them to.

It was to the Big Health Insurance and Big Pharma advantage, they are getting lot of federal funds (i.e. our tax dollars) from Obamacare and the results.

I call it Roberts Care. He's the one who could have stopped it but didn't. In fact, he probably gave Comey the idea of how you can lead the people to think that you are going to say one thing and then close with another.

I've long suspected (from a distance) that legislation that large, and pushed by those in power "for the good of the people" absolutely, positively HAD to be for the good of some large corporations at the expense of the people. I suspect that we got an "insurance bailout" instead of what the people thought was a step closer to socialized healthcare.
