CHINA LAKE Retro Pump action 40mm Grenade launcher

You are bidding on a New CHINA LAKE Retro Pump action 40mm Grenade launcher with London Bridge Trading case. This is a complete reproduction of the original China Lake launcher that was reverse engineered from the original blueprints. It is hand fitted and assembled with the correctly heat treated parts that were known to fail in previous recreation attempts. These are super rare and there are only handfuls in existence.

This is an NFA item (Destructive Device) make sure you have a dealer lined up that can accept a transfer. All of the NFA items we list are on a Form 3 and ready to transfer to your dealer once ATF approved.

If you need the coolest items to add to your collection this is it!!!

A search shows that they only made 50 originals (and only 4 remain in museums). Seems like an item that would have been widely issued. Why not? The single shot M-79 was. Corporate politics?

From my corner, The weight to effectiveness to the needed task killed this.

The 40MM was a secondary tool, good for open areas. We carried 2 but only used them when we were on the FB, as 99% of our time out was in triple canopy jungle.

The weight of an M16(w/ammo) and an M-79(w/ammo) was equivalent to an M-60 loadout.

And within a year there were single-shot under barrel units showing up.

Worth noting, this was a Navy SEAL endeavour. Riding around in boats mitigates the weight problem.

Do I want to go into bankruptcy getting the ATF Form and buying the launcher,

or go into bankruptcy buying ammunition for it?

The venerable M-79 is still in use (as of 2006). The weight isn't an issue when it rides in the turret of a gun truck. Much easier to throw up and pop a flare or HE than the M203.

I was the Riot Control Grenadier with a 79 on Oki. Would have come in handy. Dodging rocks and breech loading the damn thing was a challenge. :D I could have been on Dancing with Scars.
