As a SF soldier I feel like I have some thick skin but.......words have meanings and should have consequences....I will explain the additional caveat to free speech
I have been on a binge lately watching ANTIFA snowflakes getting destroyed by an INFOWARS guy named Owen Shroyer...absolutely epic destruction and exposure of liberal leftards lunacy
The videos are classicly hilarious watching Shroyer ask questions and back his information with facts (I have fact checked him he is on it) and offer the lefties a chance to substantiate their argument on his platform when the lefties make generalized accusations he offers them the platform to further their protest cause with facts and simply asks them to present an example......of course few if any have any and simply lose their minds with the mind grenades he throws after he has pulled the pin.....IMO after watching many videos he will listen to reasonable debate and offers the lefty a platform to further their protest.....the responses he gets are amazingly ignorant and hilarious but sad as well.
Yes I know what INFOWARS is and Alex Jones conspiracies can be out there but this guy is amazing at drawing out the irrationality of the left. We all know that he is going to have a conservative view but his job as a partisan is to highlight the other side. I have yet to see him cowl down and is willing to discuss rationally the point if their is one. Their are some gold for conservatives who have watched some of these protests the funny is when he ferrets out professors but he makes a point of how sad the state of higher education is in America especially when he runs across educators who are involved.
The revision is this IMO if a snowflake can get in your face and call you every name in the book unprovoked and threaten etc....to a certain extent the one being verbally assaulted should reserve the right to beat the ever living piss out of the verbal assaulter.....the dishonesty in these protests are not just the intolerance but the hypocrisy of ANTIFA protesters for example to say things they would never say without the LEO protection that is their to keep it peaceful as they can....the same LEO they are protesting LOLOL.....I say an FU or go F yourself is worthy of a few SERE slaps in retaliation it worked for my Mother when I got caught talking like that.
The old stick and stones saying is not and never has been true anywhere in the world....words have meanings and do hurt people.....to be verbally abused in the era of bullying being defined additionally beyonf physical as verbal intimidation or internet stalking as having negative consequences then so should the same go for a politically opposed a-hole....I can ignore alot of stuff but the venom some of these people spew would challenge Job to keep his cool.
WD - I think you are on to something. It has gotten even worse: if you look at what happened to Candace Owens yesterday(?), they flat-out committed assault. They put a bullhorn in her ear and screamed (agg assault?). They "touched" her with a bull horn and their bodily effluent (spit) was hitting her. That is flat-out assault consummated by battery.
What shocked me is that the cops stood by and didn't intervene or make arrests. They even let the antifa thug throw a bottle/cup of water at the male (can't recall his name) without arresting him.
They are going to do this to one of us soon and it won't go the way they think. If I am surrounded by superior numbers (disparity of force), my mobility is removed, and I am being prohibited from leaving (restraint/kidnapping), I am going to up the ante until they either let me leave or the violence hits a crescendo. I will not wait for them to start heel-stomping me as too many of these folks are doing. I refuse to allow some coward to lunge out of the crowd and smack me in the head with a bike-lock. It's going to get real ugly, real quick.
The left has been very good at employing "lawfare" against the right for decades, it's about time we do the same. Candace should file a claim against the police that they stood by and allowed the assaults to continue. The cops could have made any number of arrests as they were about equal in numbers. They could have arrested the thugs for disturbance/breach of peace; false imprisonment; assault; battery; harassment; hate crime(s); etc...etc. Yet, they did nothing.
NOT the fault of the cops....this is policy driven by the higher bureaucrats. I suspect the cops would have loved to have dealt some wood-shampoos out and given a few of these scrotes the lightning ride.
They better get a grip on this stuff before it gets much worse....there's not a whole heck of a lot of maneuver room left.

I have to say, both Candice and Charlie showed great restraint against those ANTIFA snowflakes. I would have knocked that fat bitch out if it were me. Go ahead, throw something at me, call me names you slob; but I have the right to throat punch your ass. These people have gotten away with so much crap, I am sure the cops would just love to give them a nice baton to the head. It is assault if you spit, and throw anything, even water. Blind eye? No, because ANTIFA have carried this on way too far and it needs to stop. Why is it OK to smash windows, ram a bull horn in someone's ear, hit someone with a chain/lock? It's not, and it will get ugly if someone decides to retaliate. Those ANTIFA pukes need to go back to their parents basement.
Society as a whole has gotten worse, I would have had my ass beaten by my parents if I did the shit they get away with today. Its called respect for others, and for different opinions and thoughts. It's not one-sided, and never should be. The Left have spewed hatred, and venom for way too long because if their side does not win; they want to throw temper tantrums, march in the streets and say "It's Not Fair"....Well, nothing is fair in life (Man, and do I know that) and we have to accept the fact that things don't always go our way. That is the difference between "Us" and "Them"; we can move forward, think ahead and fight another day. Well almost; I still want to punch that cow in the face......:p
They better get a grip on this stuff before it gets much worse....there's not a whole heck of a lot of maneuver room left.
With about 90 days until the election I have a feeling that the clock has run out on getting a handle on this craziness, I expect it to get far worse.

The funny thing is their "facts" come from mainstream media not vetted but even worse when asked protestors don't seem to know why they do what they do......I also wonder after looking at Craigslist job ads which protestor organized the activity since I see ads for activist paying upwards of 1500 a week...not sure if they are related but common sense tells me that many of these protestors are co-opted by an organizer on false pretenses.....lol no probably not they are all irrational loonies that defy logical explanation

Bingo sir. Out of curiosity I checked my own state statutes on this, and that would be the take here. Effluence of bodily fluids is battery which, in this case, was preceded by the in-your-face threatening manner (assault). (Bodily fluids; anyone remember the huge outcry over a sweaty pro basketball player that had tested HIV+?)
Bottom line at the Bottom: Justifies defensive response to eliminate the threat with certainty. (Caveat: I try to avoid crowds & stay away from commie enclaves.)

My wife and I used to enjoy "date night" down on the River Walk, but that is now history because violence against conservatives and/or anyone having the gall to have been born white is justified on a daily basis by the media. I no longer frequent any establishment that does not allow concealed carry by its patrons, although this is a rarity in Texas. My friends, one morning very soon you will wake up and hear on the news how battery acid has replaced water be thrown in faces and clubs have been replaced by firearms. This is going to get worse because it is basically unchecked. There were 74 shootings resulting in 12 deaths this weekend in Chicago - there were 0 arrests associated with the violence. Why Maxine Waters has not been arrested for inciting this violence is beyond me.

So, Murphy only wants to crush free speech if you consider yourself a Conservative, because it does not follow his Leftist Agenda? Boo Hoo.....the most vile comments, volatile actions, and down right nastiness has primarily come from the Left. Sen. Murphy needs a boot up his ass. Oh, heaven forbid if I call a "Spade a Spade" now days. Well, Sen. Murphy...a spade is a spade no matter how you try to conceal it....:munchin Politics as usual. I guess it's time to "watch your back" (and your buddies) if you are a Conservative anymore. It's a darn shame....
By the way...Maxine Waters BLOWS......:)

I agree Waters should be held accountable for her leadership....exactly my point words matter they are not harmless. I can't understand how bullying is such an issue but protestors trying to intimidate conservatives is not the same....the left defines free speech much different than the rest of us how can a protest be peaceful if it provokes and incites? either bullying is real or it isn't regardless of justification

I am 100% certain if you got in Maxine Waters face with a bullhorn and your spittle hit her you would be arrested and charged.
Like SouthernDZ, I conceal carry everywhere here in Texas, if an establishment is posted not allowing CC then I decline to go there.
I'm also avoiding going to events with large crowds. The socialists keep upping their rhetoric as well as their violence.

Let me know. I'm laying low in Schertz. ;)
I've long advocated that the specific portion of The First that gives special protections to the press, be, temporally suspended (on national security grounds).
This action would put the press on the same footing as the rest of the population regarding libel, slander, and confidential sources.
After several thousand lawsuits, the so-called "press" would start reporting news as news and opinions as commentary with clearly defined barriers between them.

*Journalism* (or public protest with a bullhorn or other sound amplifier) should require an individual permit or license issued by the state and the state should have clearly defined rules and sub laws to the US and State Constitutions on where one can openly open their mouth or where opening ones’ mouth is closely controlled for content and truthful standards.
At least then the federal government can come in and post signs that say this is “Speech Free Zone” (a place where absolutely no hateful, hurtful, discriminative, or political speech is allowed.) (Pretty much everywhere but especially within 500’ of school campuses/universities, government buildings, airports, train stations and movie theaters to name a few.)
Anyone found to be speaking without a license is subject to fines, imprisonment or both and be subject to civil and criminal penalties for libel or hurt feelings.
No “Soapbox” for you! Anyone profiting from speaking (TV personality) have additional requirements and restrictions on free speech to be 100% truthful at all times.
Speaking is not an unrestricted free right, certain etiquette and ethical standards must be maintained and enforced for the protection of all citizens. (To protect the children.)
Anyone opening ones’ mouth or discharging hateful rhetoric, inciting riot, or general discourse is guilty of verbal assault. If any injuries result from or to anyone in the vicinity of can/will raise the level of assault to felony assault and battery and all participants are guilty of the crime even if only one person conducted it.
(Note: Unlawful and unregistered immigrants have no reasonable expectation to speak freely or publicly without repercussions to include immediate arrest from local, state and federal authorities and be subject to deportation.)
Note: These permits/licenses are subject to fees as little as $50 and up to $500 and must be renewed per state law every two to five years. Also you will be subject to providing fingerprints and voice analysis recordings at the time of application and fees of $20 to $100 will be collected at this time even if the permit/license is denied.

Must notify .gov when taking it out of state for "protest". Ownership + batteries, even when not installed together, constitutes violation based on "constructive intent."
Surely, this would close the audio-visual equipment convention loophole. If we save even 1 set of ears...

So these antifa or, you name the group, get so obnoxious that the government doesn't have to do anything. We get rid of the 1st amendment ourselves...these protestors are simply serving that purpose.
Let them talk, scream, or throw tantrums who cares? Don't like being around them, then don't be there. Protestors who break the zillion laws we have can be charged.
Ultimately whose advantage is it if the 1st Amendment goes away? Isn't that what we're talking about? Or do we want to pick who can speak?
We are all seeing and have seen the results of entities deciding for us and others what can and cannot be said.

I think it comes down to the old phrase - “Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins.” (or “Your rights end where mine begin”)
No one should have to feel threatened, intimidated or leave a public space because of Antifa, BLM, or some other SJW hate group that thinks it’s okay to get in your face and disrupt what you have every right to enjoy doing without them.
It’s called disturbing the peace, invasion of privacy, assault through verbal or physical (battery) intimidation. The fact that the police are ordered to stand down by SJW city council members and mayors can only lead to what’s inevitable - violence!
So many laws are being broken by these protesters on a daily basis that none of them respect the laws that are protecting them. The pendulum is swinging back from the far left, where it stops will determine what is acceptable in the future or our system is simply broken and needs a solid review and reboot.

‘If’ the “pen is mightier than the sword.” Then a few facts have to be realized.
The founding fathers are believed to have rearranged the order of the first 10 (first two) amendments. Moving freedom of speech, religion and a free press ahead of what was originally the 1st Amendment “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, for the protection of a free state.” Why they switched them I can’t recall, but probably for the same reasons below.
In the history of American war, individual freedom (right to self protection) and the enforcement of law the gun has never started a war, discharged itself in defense or created legal precedent by itself. Words, be they failed diplomacy of government, words of warning issued before an action, or commands of law enforcement to change an inevitable course of action - all before a trigger is pulled, have not changed much in 200+ years.
Words (the pen: spoken or written) have in nearly all justifiable cases precipitated the use and necessity of the 2nd Amendment or the gun. Maybe that is the reason the founding fathers switched them because a gun doesn’t think, it doesn’t act, it doesn’t feel or fear or experience emotion. Humans do that and words do have meaning and consequences.
So why is it that the government (of the people) have written so many laws and established so many draconian rules to control an inanimate piece of metal when in fact what should be further controlled is someone’s mouth?
Not much has changed regarding the 1st and almost no one has every been arrested for “yelling fire in a crowded theater” let alone inciting violence/riot. The movie/gaming industry have mandatory ratings to protect children from foul language, violence and sexual themes but it’s okay for movie stars to stand on a public stage with a microphone and spew vulgar words and parade about in a rubber vagina while inciting others to burn, destroy and vandalize property and that’s OK?
Something is terribly wrong with our country and it won’t take new laws to correct; there are already the laws necessary in the books to change our direction; they just have to be enforced. Can start with Maxine, Ashley, Cher and others. The right to protest and seek redress of grievance is protected. The act of blocking traffic, breaking windows and burning your city to the ground is not; inciting others to do that is a crime.
Start enforcing the law and nip this in the bud. Everything currently wrong with our nation is because of language that is not protected by the constitution. Free speech has limitations and real consequences exist for not being better controlled by the adults in the room.
Revision of 1st amendment
I'd be willing to play their game by seeking to require background checks on so-called journalists. Let's threaten them with a little tit-for-tat and see what song they begin singing.

Not restrictions but a revision that defines when peaceful is no longer just peaceful but inciteful, intimidation, verbal assault, threatening and challenging to a fight and when do us citizens reserve the right to feel harassed and threatened enough to take action....when they block streets and movement they interfere with others rights.....when they scream at someone walking by the protest out of necessity who begins to feel bullied and threatened trying to navigate.... When does the public name calling and accusations become assault.....what if the victim lacks the verbal skills to fight back and resorts to violence in response to the threats???? There is a limit to patience and bullying the answer to a wimp screaming is a physical response that answers the ole letting your mouth write checks your body can't cash.......saying what you want being harmless is untrue or it wouldn't be said to me the honesty of beating the piss out of a mouthy punk protected by invisible words called a right is dishonest and is an abuse of the intent....the irony is the anarchy these idiots portray is exactly what would be their doom if this country fell into anarchy....in nature if an animal fucks with a lion it gets killed and eaten therefore it spends its natural life avoiding lions and drawing their attention.

Prior to the creation of the Department of Education in 1979, US high school students consistenly (1969- 1980) ranked in the top ten when compared to other industrialized nations. Today, our students rank somewhere between 19-22.The teachers union is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic party. IMO it is madness give any political party dominion over the education of our children. IMO, it appears that our children are being taught what to think vs how to think. We are seeing the results with Antifa, Democratic Socialists, et al.

Things don't look good for freedom of speech. Big Tech is currently in the process of eliminating AJ, Knight and Shroyer from the internet. I wonder who will be next on their list. 100+ papers are colliding against Trump. Michael Moore says Trump will be the last President.

Unfortunately, this will probably happen to me...I am supposed to wear glasses but I don't think they will help me identify what someone wants to be identified as. Oh well, I'll only back up so far, just like many others.

Funny the leftist LGBT community has a bill pushing to make calling a person who identifies as the other gender than the actual a punishable crime....it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world
https://www.dailywire.com/news/19899/california-proposes-jail-time-using-wrong-gender-amanda-prestigiacomo
They want to take away your religious rights to deny this abomination but the left can call you every name in the book and want protection under the 1st amendment?
Wait....so if it's a crime to call someone "Mr instead of Mrs" because they identify as another gender, then why is Felona Von Pantsuits still called Madame, isn't that considered a crime? LOL :p

Funny, I often remove my glasses in order to return to my blissfully ignorant world where I just don't want to know.....

Southern DZ,
I must say that with poor hearing and eyesight I live in a beautiful world. Most who are offended by me know that about me and move on to someone who cares about who or what they have sex with. The only thing I feel compelled to celebrate is our country doing better. Middle age is great!

Compelled Speech is WRONG.
Amen, Jordan Peterson, Jesse Lee Peterson, Dinesh D'Souza, Ben Shapiro, Owen Shroyer the cuck destroyer, Sherriff David Clarke, Dr Ben Carson, Adam Smith economist....there is a solid anti PC truth based movement gaining traction
BTW Peterson has claimed August as Mens history month so happy mens history month LOL

Things don't look good for freedom of speech. Big Tech is currently in the process of eliminating AJ, Knight and Shroyer from the internet. I wonder who will be next on their list. 100+ papers are colliding against Trump. Michael Moore says Trump will be the last President.
Could it be America's version of the Arab Spring is just over the horizon? Civil Unrest, Stock Market crash, Censorship. Whatever is up, I am betting on a massive climax in November.
I tell you what we are clearly falling as a nation Trump came just in time to slow the fall down when this chosen nation falls watch out.
Civil unrest is happening in every city with the left they are hateful, godless immoral people who deny the natural order of man and life as God designed it....liberal policies and city governments have allowed savages to destroy their cities and the welfare state has effectively replaced the father in the home
IMO we were and maybe still are on the fast track to what has happened and still happening in S. Africa with the Bantu people killing whites as they claim farms and the government from the whites......we have a generation since Obama and in fact since the civil rights movement of emasculated men who are guilty for being anything but a minority and woman running homes and raising fatherless young men, liberal godless misguided educational systems doing their best to invest in a manless future....the next 20 years if men do not stand up and retake their role as men this country will be borderless and subjugated to a foreign communist power
The insanity that was pushed onto us under Obama still has many scratching their heads the SJW's are still pushing their hatred on the nation in every city and the media continues to distort the American view in that it is insanely the institution of higher learning is corrupt and violated...guaranteed in places no one sees many companies are not interested in these twisted SJW's poisoning their companies...unless you are the NFL or NBA or you name it....no where else can a man become a dumb multi millionaire like professional athletes in this country and then be crazy enough to complain that the system is stacked against them all while sitting in a 10 million dollar home.....now that's insanity
What we cannot do is continue to allow them to pass laws that are unconstitutional and frankly evil....Americans spoke CNN has lost much viewership and yet they continue to push agenda's and that is scary when a business puts SJ over profit....normally the free market would eventually crush something people do not support but they are propped up nevertheless
BTW Peterson has claimed August as Mens history month so happy mens history month LOL
Well, hell. It's almost over and I didn't even know about it!

What we cannot do is continue to allow them to pass laws that are unconstitutional and frankly evil...That is what has them mobilized against the Kavanaugh nomination to SCOTUS. The argument that "women will die", and Roe v. Wade will go away, is a bunch of kibuki theater used to marshal resources to scream about that & guns & tearing apart families, and they know it. They know that Roe v. Wade isn't going anywhere and that (mechanically) finding someone with actual standing to challenge it (other than a bio-father) is slim. But it gets the cat ladies & pussy-hats & metro boys into the streets, using words on signs they can't actually define, but which were provided on signs & shirts already printed & silk-screened by Soros Agitprop, LLC or its subsidiaries.
What they're really after are the things to come, both fads of the moment to restrict their definition of hate-speech and gun ownership; all goals to make Americans who voted against Felonia von Pantsuit into criminals. They are bullies who need to find out what the color of their own blood looks like when flowing from their own noses.

Yep....the tide of hate in this Country from the Left/News Media (Ha...Stupid Bastards) and their Liberal Politician Masters. "Our Way or No Way"....let's silence the masses if it does not align with their Socialist Agenda for this Country. It's a mess, but you cannot muzzle millions of us who are not in agreement. :munchin

Errata: One of the comments in the cited article mentions that Trump can't find staff to fill positions because they don't want to go through the wringer that would be involved. That's only partly true. There are still plenty willing to step up despite the suck it will put them in. The real problem can be seen simply by looking at the voting records of any Democrat Senators on confirmations. (Well, maybe with the exception of Sonny Perdue as Ag Sec'y.) They are about obstructing - simple as that. If they can't depose Trump, their other goal is to make him "combat ineffective" - something he doesn't seem to have fallen for.

CNN has lost much viewership and yet they continue to push agenda
Every time someone starts a sentence containing "saw on CNN, heard on CNN, CNN said" I laugh and ignore the rest of what they are saying.
I'd listen, but my time is better spend buying more ammo and getting better with shooting my new .308.
+1 on "sipping De Espresso Liber" this morning.

Crazy, crazy times.....let's start burning books and shoving us into Internment Camps.......I am sure my "potty mouth" while driving will be a ticket offense soon enough. Well one thing is for sure whether it is the sicko self righteous teachers deciding morality for our children or the entertainment industry influence they are trying to influence the future and the now. According to the below org TV has to be 42% gay? and if you don't see the programming these days every show has diversity and LGBT undertones or overtures

Really, I think that is everyone's own business which is fine with me; but I cannot stand when they try to shove it down your throat and dictate what should be. Sorry, but F them, I've decided long ago that I make my own mind up.Their warped views which they try to pound into kids heads today really F'd-up this Country. Wow....I need a strong coffee now.....:D

They desperately want NOT to be less than 1% of the population.
If everybody out there would take a look at your county employment stats you'll see that the biggest employer - discounting the military in Cumberland County - out there is the county school system. The union filled right arm of the left.
In Cumberland County, NC the Goodyear tire company employs about 3,000 workers. The county school system around 6,000.
Another reason teachers can fill any leftist protest at the state Capital.

Annnnnnddd... Roger! Similar thing here. The Dem here, State Sup't of Public Indocti- er, Instruction, who is running against Walker for Gov, used to also oversee the Milwaukee school district. From HS principal in my town, to Milwaukee (which he ran into the ground pandering to teachers first), then to the state level where he actually praised Walker's efforts at opening up options RE home-schooling, charter schools, etc....
Right up until the moment he decided that he needed the Governor's chair on his resume and he relapsed to full Dem - with the full power of the High Church of Akademia behind him. I'd call him a slithering chameleon but I like chameleons.
