Thanks for sharing that. A bye gone era where accountability and courage took a right turn at every fork in the road; even the wrong turns were right if in the end success was achieved.

One of my Dad's cousins husband served with Detachment 101 (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/intelligence-history/oss/acknow.htm) in Burma. Later in life was a "banker" in several African and South American countries for nearly thirty years. We have had several long "talks" while sipping quantities of single malt. His tongue would become rather loose after several stiff ones, and get looser as the night wore on. He is one helluva interesting character.
