The blue one is classier. The red design looks cheaper of the two. However, it depends upon your targeted market.

Red reminds me a bit too much of a socialist emblem with the star in the center and red color.

Blue, I also like the large text of loret as it will be visible more easily on small websites or from a longer distance relative to Café and to the text on the red logo.

I like the blue better, but it does have a more "upscale" look to it. Your target audience will matter a little.

Blue......however, put the blue logo on a red background and let's see what it looks like.

Chose blue because of the Art Deco lettering. I liked both colors until I read ret10echos post :D

Thank you all for responding. Interesting to to see that the response here was completely opposite of the interior designer, architect, and a world class jeweler designer/friend. My own opinion was not to embrace any design, but to accept the outcome. That said, due to the thumbs down, I'll present two more logo designs for consideration challenging the blue design. Its a big project and I want to get it right.
Thanks again, d

Not surprising. This is a pretty exclusive subset of society in here Penn :D

Wish you the best in your endeavor.

Thank you for the good wishes. If there is anything I learned here in the past ten years, it is the value of the unvarnished, dispassionate, SA intelligent truth.
If corporate America ever realized the wealth of knowledge here, every HR department would look no further.

In the end it is your design and represents you. Pick what you like.

Concur with the blue.

It looks very upscale. The kind of place where I look at that logo on the door and think "all the dishes are hand made, plated with style, have that drizzle of sauce, small portions, higher price tag".

The red makes me think of a Texas barbecue restaurant. Meaty, big portions, delicious, smaller price tag. Maybe red and white checkerboard tablecloth, Tabasco sauce on the table.

So it really depends on what's inside.

Guy, you are absolutely correct. Often maligned, NJ is the riches state in the Union, but flip flpos with Connecticut. Current shop is located in Hunterdon County NJ, according to the 2010 USC, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-income_counties_in_the_United_States#2010_Census ranked #6 in per/cap income in USA. New Shop located in Monmouth County household income $87,297, would rank 18 or 19 in the US.

But more importantly, Round two of Crowd sourcing the next logo. Thanking everyone in advance for your time and thoughtful consideration.
