I see some pineland in that flash, don't insult pinelanders !
It looks like a mix of the 5th & 20th flash?
It ain't green...a nice shit brown....
What a bullshit story they wrote to try to justify what they are doing. Since they are combat advisors I guess they go away when we quit fighting😱

What's the butter knife on the crest for, making PB&J sandwiches ?
Question:
If a Ranger or SF guy pcs' to SFAB, do they get to wear their MOS beret or must they get one on the new brown one?
My understanding is if an 18 series is assigned to say a leg unit, he can still wear his green beret with the un-assigned flash.

I would guess yes....I wore a GB in a Joint unit as it was an SF slot....that would be a more definitive answer...if an SF slot yes, otherwise up to local decision.

And the proof of that still hangs in the hallway, at least as of last spring when I was there. I have to admit, the little curly handlebar moustache someone added with a Sharpie was a nice touch. :D

It will probably depend on said SFAB Brigade Commander. Rangers whether PCS'd in good standing or RFS'd especially normally switch to the unit's beret. Only way to wear tan is actively serve in a Ranger unit. However, an exception with tan I saw were those with a USASOC flash. From what I saw in the 82nd Green Berets were different. One former SF actively wore his in garrison with our flash attached. Though he was working at Brigade HQ and from what I heard had to get the Brigade Commander to sighn off on it.

Might be true for a ranger, because a ranger in Regiment is not a new MOS just a duty position. SF has it's own branch. Will have to email the 2nd BN SFAB Commander on this. He just left his SF BN Command position from 3rd Group.
