Minimi or M-249 SAW variant.
Israelis?
TR
It's not a Minimi or M249.

M-249 is a variant incorporating a number of changes, including an M-16 box mag feed adapter.

The weapon, the person or both?
Both, unless the shooter actually has some clone of the M-16 rather than the C8.

The weapon is not a C8, but a C8A2 (actually, it has a different designation in this guy's army).
Although you can't see much of the uniform, does that look like CADPAT camouflage (or the Canucks' old ODs)? The photo is from Iraq, if that narrows it down. And while blond dudes are rare in Iraq, they aren't where he's from.

I think the soldier is from the Danish Army. You think?
Do you think or do you know, soldier?
...
The weapon is a Karabin M/96, the Danish designation for the Diemaco C8A2. The soldier is a Dane.

Weapon is an FN P90.
Thought the same thing, and would assume possibly a Belgian soldier?

Not Belgian camouflage.
Camo is French and light gear, so i would say it is a French SF close protection detail.

Ding! ding! ding! We have a winner!
Of course, no one said where. I would have given credit for "Afghanistan" or "in a helicopter."
