New York man accused of fabricating decorated Green Beret military career
By Kathleen Joyce | Fox News

A New York man fabricated his decorated military career, with claims of being a Green Beret, receiving medals for courage under fire and serving for 25 years all being exposed as lies, according to military documents.
Papotia Reginald Wright, of Brooklyn, claimed he served with Special Forces, but military documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, showed the veteran was not a Green Beret and did not go beyond a “specialist rank,” the New York Post reported.

Daily Mail also picked up the story today - couldn't get into other Papotia Reginald Wright thread but thought it may be of interest - so posted here.

Kathleen Joyce | Fox News (or whomever wrote your script) Stolen Valor “not a crime against our nations heroes” ………..

Stolen Valor is not “a crime against our nations heroes”, it’s a crime against our nation.

We do not own the medals we receive, America does and its America that bestows her medals upon us.

Many of these medals have been in circulation for over a century, given to our military members to “honor” their service to our nation. At any formal military formation with just a glance, you can tell which soldiers have crossed that line in the sand and how they conducted themselves in the face of the enemy. It is these men and women that understand the sacrifice to our nation, not the fraud, not the civilian, not the journalist and not the politician.

Military frauds purchase our nations medals not to steal our valor, but to defraud America. Our honor cannot be stolen, traded, or gifted. And while some dishonorable corporations, politicians or journalists will try, our valor is not for sale.

These military frauds should be a wake-up call to America. You will believe anything, accept the contemptible and trust the dishonorable.

The valor stolen is not ours, it is Americas.

Aye, we know the real story........twas green berets that landed this slimy worm. ;) How much slime he and his Moby Dick got on everyone involved is what made the story amusing.

At least all involved will be making his "new year" very interesting indeed. We certainly hope to be reading about him again. ;)
