Is there anything that I need to know about when traveling commercial with a full up trauma bag? Considering the screening process and new protective measures on the airlines.

sorry I have not been on, but its been a very busy week trying to get into the next SFAS class.

I would say offhand that scalpels, sharps, and blades should be checked baggage, but I could be wrong.

You should definitely keep your ID and orders handy.

call this 'I learned it the hard way'..........
check your bag but if it is loaded with 'valuable' equipment, i.e., things that are not readily available or difficult/expensive to replace, bring it to the counter and insist someone sign for it. I do this for firearms or my tac-med equipment when I travel.
They get a copy of what they are signing for...usually the counter person says no so I ask to have the manager come foward....this way anything lost is their responsibility and I have an accountability trail so I can get full replacement value if it is lost or stolen.
Otherwise, just check the bag with needles, scalpels, etc.

COL R,
Thanks for the advice and Ill send you my cell so I can tell you what DSOP told me 12hours ago. I need advice. BTW your rank stays in my book. The Army will figure out their mistake sooner or later.

Doc,
Good idea to do that. I have a dfid and some meds that I dont want lost or stolen. I will definately have them sign for it.
