In light of recent events involving the murder of Green Berets by 'Allied Forces' in Jordan and the event that unfolded in Niger, I have to ask, is there a way that this can be prevented? I'm a lower enlisted Reserve Soldier, unprivileged to any sensitive information but I want to find a solution to these problems. I'm pretty sure the Green Berets are capable enough of figuring these things out but I look at the situation like this: if that were MY ODA, how could I have prevented that? I know it's a tough question and a tougher situation.

The guys do dangerous stuff in dangerous places. Sometimes shit happens. The lessons learned have been/will be disseminated to those that need them. That doesn't include random individuals on the internet.

I look at the situation like this: go to selection, finish the Q-course, pass your gates, get assigned to a Group, get assigned to a ODA. Then you can have a reason to think about prevention of insider threats or ambushes because your ass is on the line on every deployment.

I understand. I'm working on getting myself fit for SFAS. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
