Suspect Plans to Sue ‘Hero’ Who Stopped Him From Robbing Fresno Starbucks; Both Men Were Stabbed During*Altercation

A 30-year-old man who allegedly used a gun during an attempted robbery at a California Starbucks now plans to sue the good Samaritan who stepped in to stop the crime, according to local reports.
Back in July, Ryan Flores attempted to rob a Starbucks when Cregg Jerri, 58, attacked him. Surveillance video from the scene shows the*suspect wearing a Transformers mask and threatening a barista. Seconds later, Jerri picked up a metal chair and hit the suspect in the back.
During the altercation, Flores stabbed Jerri in the neck. Jerri eventually wrestled the knife away from Flores and stabbed the suspect multiple times, according to police.
While police called Jerri a "hero," the suspect's mother said her son is a victim, the Fresno Bee reported.
"He has 17 total stab wounds, lacerations, and defensive wounds," Pamela Chimienti told local TV station KSEE.
Flores, who remains in jail on attempted robbery charges, now plans to sue Jerri for excessive force, according to the station.
"The guy, in my opinion, went from a good Samaritan to a vigilante. Stabbing somebody that many times, it doesn't take that many stab wounds to get somebody to succumb to you,"*Chimienti said.
Chief Jerry Dyer said the idea that Jerri would be sued is "ludicrous" and said he does not face any criminal charges.
Flores is expected in court in October.

That's crazy...the POS tries to rob Starbucks and this guy happens to have the balls to step in and whack the crap out of him and the victims mother say's "excessive force" and want's to sue? F her, if it were me I would have finished with 10 kicks to the nut sack just to make sure. :D

In Florida, if a person is conducting a forcible felony (rape, attempting murder, armed robbery), and you shoot them, neither they or their family can sue you for injury or death (as long as you're legal yourself)! YAY FOR THE GUNSHINE STATE. They got that one right at least.

While Flores admits his guilt in trying to rob the store, he played the victim card with the media.
“He just started stabbing me,” Flores said. He allegedly told Jerri, “I have a son, please stop.”
If Flores was so worried about being a part of his son’s life, he shouldn’t have put himself in a position to be taken away from his boy.
Because Flores believes that injustice was done to him in this situation, he mentioned how unfair it would be for him to face additional time for the harm he caused to Jerri.
“I’m willing to do a year, a year and a half,” he said. “But not two or four years.”
