House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi is asking the National Park Service to reconsider a permit for what she called a "white supremacist rally" set for late August in San Francisco, in the wake of last weekend's clashes in Charlottesville, VA.

These days anyone who doesn't tow the liberal line is a White Supremacist.......IMO it's all an attempt to rev up the voting base for the midterms.

Without a doubt, you can see the strategy in play everywhere you turn.

Pelosi recently captured on camera dining out at her favorite restaurant.
I don't want the KKK and neo Nazis in my area either but those Pieces of shit have a right to their beliefs. Either you uphold the Constitution or you do not ,you can not pick and choose.
For quite sometime TPTB have been picking and choosing what they uphold. The Constitution is subject interpretation with the change of each and every administration and court case.

I live in the South and believe our interests were more damaged by the rally in Charlottesville than anyone else. Most Southerners are proud of their heritage but now everyone is only talking about these knuckleheads. White supremacy...that's the focus now, not heritage or actual history.

California is a great place to hold a white supremacist rally. With few exceptions outside the major cities, rural farming areas and the mostly inner city enclaves of mostly poor and forgotten blacks, Hispanics and Asian folks, the whole rest of the state is populated with white folks who have a clear dissatisfaction for anyone but themselves.
Why I'd bet good money that Nancy and Barbara live on a street in a community with less than 0.0001% minority residents. They probably also hire out cleaning and landscaping to them other people that have to live elsewhere.
California - home to celebrity movie stars and boutique shops with a penchant for upperclass white folks! (aka SNOBS)

Totally agree. I grew up in the South taught not to hate anyone because of their skin color. The KKK and other groups like them have been a thorn in everyone's side since Reconstruction.

Before history is torn down, burned and forgotten let's all just remember the Southern Democrats are the party who brought us the KKK and Grand Dragons and revered in Jefferson, Jackson, Lee and many others who gave us the Civil War to keep and maintain slaves as a birthright.
I wonder what Fort Bragg is going to be renamed to soon?

Here I am, stuck in the middle with you"....:D Yep, KKK and stupid Nazi's are nothing but a bunch of Clowns and "F-Tards". Oh and throw in those idiots like the Anarchists and Antifa POS. The "far-left" fanatical groups are just as bad.
My mom is from Virginia, and she never had a racist bone in her body, and all of us were taught to respect all people regardless of skin color; or we would get our ears boxed. It is a shame that we are slowly losing our past and our history because of misinformed individuals and these groups of driveling ass clowns. Next thing you’ll know they will be tearing up the graveyards. :munchin

They will have to start with the one in General Lee's front yard. What's that called again? Oh yeah, Arlington National Cemetery. :munchin
all of these statues that serve simply to raise a torch in support of some blind and subjective ideology should be torn down...
...they are just statues from Americas evil past and they should be erased from history

Can we start with the higher educational institutions like colleges and universities founded by slave owners and civil war leaders?

I think it's fair to say that a mob chanting "Jews will not replace us" is white supremacist. I don't think it's partisan hyperbole.
This is a complicated issue, and there isn't an easy answer. I think the radicals on both sides of the aisle are engaging in an "arms race" of sorts, only their ramping up their activism, sometimes violent, in support of their agenda. This whole Charlottesville shit is a reaction to what the radical left has been doing on college campuses and in cities for the past few years. The voices of the moderate and reasonable are increasingly being drowned out by both sides.
Yeah, the 1st Amendment is sacrosanct. But the SCOTUS has ruled that speech that can be construed to incite imminent lawlessness is not protected. Whether or not the events in Charlottesville can fit that definition, I don't know. I'm not a lawyer. But when protestors show up wearing helmets and tactical gloves I am naturally cynical when they purport to have "peaceful intentions."

Perhaps counter demonstrations should be better managed to avoid conflict.

While we are at it let'd erase FDR for being the only president to put American citizens in concentration camps.

But when protestors show up wearing helmets and tactical gloves I am naturally cynical when they purport to have "peaceful intentions."With all due respect, when the commie-tool counter-protest-minions have been found to be getting instruction on using aerosol flame throwers, the use of muriatic & hydrochloric acid, caustic over-the-counter chemicals, and carry bludgeons (all of which meet deadly-weapon criteria), showing up in your "business casual" outfit is just stupid. Nearly any modern police officer would be found unindictable if faced with one of those threats & simply shot the SOB dead.
They decided instead to exercise their right; they should've been protected by the government in doing so, and were not. They were then made out, by the same colluding crew - and I include the state government & nearly all media, pandering only to "pwecious feewings" - to be the villain.

I do not believe it is all that complicated. You have several groups of bad players stirring up shit, one happens to be Caucasian oriented, you have a media (the Ministry of Truth) that glorifies some groups demonizes others to fit a pre-determined narrative and you have groups of politicians and business leaders who are busy playing red vs blue for their personal profit.
Yeah, the 1st Amendment is sacrosanct. But the SCOTUS has ruled that speech that can be construed to incite imminent lawlessness is not protected.
ANTIFA, BLM and OWS prove that imminent lawlessness is a protected 1st Amendment Right........for some
Had Terry McCulife and the Mayor allowed for better crowd control we would have no KIA's in Charlottesville........had they put statue removal up for a public vote instead of government edict it may have had a better reception and saved 3 lives.

Yes, I suppose it is unfortunate they were not given the space they needed to screech about Jewish conspiracies and other things that have historically kept the white man down.

You shouldn't drink the Kool-Aid. Your example is absolutely no different than screeching about killing white babies - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y3Cd9gnvlw

How Johnny Rebel and David Allen Coe songs........
Like them or not, it is all protected under the First Amendment.
The thing that gets me is that all of these people who are standing on their "moral highground", proclaiming that every Confederate flag/memorial is offensive and should be taken down are the same people who wave the ole' sickle & hammer freely or wear their che scumbag guevera shirts.
Have these idiots no grasp of the history of communism? How many millions of people were enslaved/killed under this ideology?
What about the fact that anybody who disagrees with you is a Nazi? Do they need a lesson on the what fascism actually is? The Nazi's murdered millions of people in the name of their ideology.
This is the strategy of these weak minded personalities that are part of the so-called post Modern neo-marxist movement. If you don't agree with them, you are a nazi, and must be silenced, you have no 1st amendment protection under the law. THIS is a problem.

Yes, I suppose it is unfortunate they were not given the space they needed to screech about Jewish conspiracies and other things that have historically kept the white man down.I believe you're completely missing the point. (Also it seems you're focusing on the message of some who were a tiny minority there, which always seems to be the voice that gets repeated in the media, with all the perjorative buzzwords that go with it.) Who's to be the censor - you? The governor? George Soros?
It is not about the "what" - it's about being free to say it.

Southern Poverty Law Center released a list of 600 hate groups through CNN
Here are all the active hate groups where you live - CNN
https://apple.news/AERgIvhV1Rx-SsJ3nsIgJEQ
No BLM, no Antifa, no Black Block or whatever they call themselves.
If you are white, Christian, or Aryan you are screwed unless...
you belong to an OMG like the Hells Angels, Bandidos, Mongols, Warlocks, etc... (Apparently they don't hate anyone or hate everyone equally)
At least the Black Panthers old and new hate someone.
ETA: Doctrinally speaking and the way these people/groups are going about it. Anyone who opposes the confederacy or symbols thereof, are terrorists. Their tactics and message is that if these symbols, institutions and the names of people who are remembered for actions in the Civil War on the Confederate side (for now) are not dismantled, removed and renamed...expect violence, property destruction and injury to come to your city and community. Pretty much the definition of 'terrorism' if you ask me. And as others have said they will not be done with the confederacy, next up will be the Constitution, and all the parts of the BOR they don't like.

It is unfortunate that a group is not allowed their freedom of speech regardless of how egregious other groups feel about what they are saying.
I don't have to like or agree with what they are saying, but I do have to allow their voices to be heard.
Not allowing what the KKK and white supremacist groups have to say makes me no different than antifa, BLM and other communist sympathizers who do not allow conservatives or libertarians to speak freely.
It is also unfortunate that the governor of Virginia and the mayor/asst mayor of Charlottesville ignored a judge's order and used law enforcement as their tool of oppression against Americans whom they disagree with and seek to silence.
