View Full Version : Q Course Graduation Questions
1. At this point in time, do candidates graduate and receive their berets after Robin Sage or after language training (following Robin Sage)?
2. What is the usual attire for guests (both military and civilian) at graduation? Is the ceremony indoor or outdoor?
3. Are there any "must-see" places to visit while we're there? How much time would you recommend we allow, for the graduation ceremony as well as for the sightseeing?
4. Any special photo ops or opportunities to purchase photos of the graduation festivities that we should be aware of?

I attended a graduation in March of this year. Dress is business casual. The graduates had a full flash on their berets when they entered the arena. Photo opps are done by attendees after the ceremony. You should visit the Airborne Museum in Fayetteville and the JFK Museum on Ft Bragg if it is open. It was being moved when I was there...
Thank you, mark46th! We will make plans to check out those museums.
Can any of you tell me whether the graduation is held a few days after Robin Sage (as it appears was done a few years back) or after language school (six months after Robin Sage, at least for 18As)?

Rick's Lounge is closed so that is no longer an option......:D
If you're a stud you bring your fitted green beret to SFAS and inform the cadre its ready to wear. :D

He's LONG past SFAS, but thanks. ;)
Now, back to my question. . . (We're trying to plan logistics.)

Graduation is held after the students finish their last phase of training, which is language. Once they take the language test and pass they then have to pass an "elevated" PT test (5 mile run instead of 2 for example). Then there is all the admin stuff to take care of which takes about a week or so. So in rough math they will graduate about 2 weeks or so after language, sometimes longer depends. The students are told on what date they will graduate shortly after language and they are supposed to pass that information to their family members. Graduation is held at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville and usually begins at noon. The only photo opportunities are the photos the family members take. Like what was stated above, the airborne museum and the JFK museum are really the only two places worth mentioning. There is a lot of construction going on on post right now and the JFK museum may be finding a new home in a new building soon, not for certain on that, I try to avoid that area due to construction and traffic.
