Now that SOCOM has elected to certify all OPERATORS in MFF, some new equipment is being developed.
You may remember version #1, alternate ground launch vehicle?? This 8yo gizmo was deemed to slow and had a learning curve that stretch to many candidates..

Version #2 was cheaper and well accepted by students, but had a mobility problem,, flight time was to short, and students needed to have a SCUBA cert... The cadre were not happy with the moniker "Blob Jumping"

Version #4,, just did not fly..

Version#5 looks like it's a wiener.. This version of the individualized student apparatus has been developed to:
1)speed up the training cycle
2)save air force fuel costs
3)eliminate the pass/fail stigma..

PS: I understand that the cadre at the S.E.R.E. school is experimenting with a version #5.b that does not need the chute??
