What's worse, this guy who didn't submit appropriate paperwork to command for a side gig, or the guy who blabs about operational details when he knows damn well that he isn't supposed to?

IMO, compared to the guys who blabbed about the Bin Laden raid, this is nothing.

The upper echelon probably jealous of the guy's porn star wife. :D

With all kinds of classified and restricted information being leaked, this is what the Navy brass chooses to crack down on?
I thought the military had been turned into a giant social experiment where everything is acceptable (well, except harrasing women, gays, LGBT's, Muslims, etc)

I’m thinking part of the rationale could have also gone something like this:

Straight porn = “violation to be addressed”
Gay porn = “we need to avoid discrimination based upon orientation”....nothing to see here, move along....

So the SEALS wife claims the newly announced investigation into her husband’s porn work exposes the hypocrisy of a military she believes is addicted to porn. I know when I got out 40 years ago no one was having a cow over Playboy, Penthouse or even Hustler. But what is the climate now? He's a big boy and he surely could not have been so naive to have believed he would not be outed, he should have hung it up at twenty years. If his retirement gets cut he will just have to rely on residuals. :D

Who gives a shit. Why not prosecute they guy that killed Bin Laden for NDA violation?

I started typing a "Billy L" reply but discarded it when I couldn't motivate myself to achieve the appropriate "Swiftian" eloquence. Suffice to say, the "social justice warriors" ruling the military today think porn is far worse that disclosing national secrets. If you don't believe me, attend a couple SHARP training sessions. If that doesn't make my point - just consider - Hillary didn't do anything wrong but this guy will be prosecuted.

And he should be. Flaunt rules and make yourself famous doing what you want then you get what you get. Should the Navy go after all the others violating NDAs? Of course. But that doesn't give this guy a pass.

So... I need to be brought up to speed.

Is he being busted for failing to file an off-duty work release?
Is he being busted for being immoral?
Does anyone know who is authorized to define morality these days?
Is he going to release his income taxes so we can see if he has any ties to the Russians?

I don't think he violated his NDA he didtnt get permission to take a second job.

Never suggested he violated a NDA...Which is more serious IMO. But at the very least, he was violating regs and flaunting that fact by allowing himself to be filmed doing it and by accounts making it common knowledge that he was doing so. Do not pasd Go. Go directlty to a CaptIn's Mast for your reduction...if lucky.

My understanding from reading a few articles is that he did inform his chain of command awhile ago and they did not seem to care at the time.

E7 & above cannot be reduced in rank at Captain's Mast. The couple made poor life decisions and are now paying the price. My guess is that this investigation was initiated immediately after someone's Assumption of Command. Somebody has probably been stewing over his activities for awhile and has just been bidding their time until they were in a position to go after him.
