View Full Version : Nail bomb detonates in St. Petersburg
The horrific blast occurred between Sennaya Ploshchad and Sadovaya train station in St Petersburg, Russia
Ambulances raced to the scene of the carnage caused by a nail bomb which was detonated on the network
Metro officials reported blast was from an improvised explosive device on board which included shrapnel
At least 10 people are reported to have been killed by the blast and 50 including children have been injured
These are the first images of the suspected terrorist accused of planting a nail bomb which ripped through carriages on a St Petersburg train killing at least ten and injuring 50 today.
Several Russian media outlets have released the picture of the bearded suspect who is wearing a long, black top and a hat and is thought to have caused carnage by detonating the bomb that was packed with shrapnel.
The terrifying incident took place on a train that was travelling between Sennaya Ploshchad and Sadovaya metro stations.
Dozens have been injured, including children, as it was reported the man left a briefcase on a train before moving carriages moments before the deadly blast and a second explosive device was found and defused in a nearby station.
Bloodied passengers were left strewn across the platform in the Russian city as emergency services scrambled to save those wounded by the bomb and the resulting shards of glass and twisted metal.
Vladimir Putin is in his hometown of St Petersburg today for talks with the president of Belarus and confirmed 'there are dead and injured', offering his condolences to the families of those killed.

Hm... I wonder if the perpetrators have ties to Russia's friends in Syria.
I wish I could say my heart is heavy for Russian casualties - but I'm just not feeling it.
Russia befriending, hosting, and employing surrogates from state sponsors of terrorism has cultivated this behavior over the last several decades and now their comrades have come home to roost.
meh...
...I'd like to see more - and I'd like to see it directly tied to places like Syria and Iran.
Ruck Fussia.
Ruck them in their upid stasses.

Eh?
I hate to be the .. er.. fly in the ointment here but it doesn't appear to be Russia keeping the pot boiling all over the world at this point in time.
US hardly whiter than the driven snow in this regards either.
Again I hate to be the voice of dissent but I'm just not getting the warm and fuzzies over the world's policeman judge and jury and executioner.
No one has claimed responsibility. By this time, in nearly all of the terrorist attacks I can remember, someone would have already claimed it. Is that Russia playing things close maybe?
Police believe the bomb may have been set off by suspected suicide bomber Akbarzhon Jalilov, 22, from Kyrgyzstan, who has been pictured on CCTV wearing a red Parka, glasses and a carrying a rucksack.
A bearded man who was identified as a possible suspect has reportedly handed himself into police and is protesting his innocence.
As yet no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, however previous attacks on Russia have been blamed on ISIS or Chechens

Red Brigade, Bader Meinhoff, ahh the good old days. Seems the younger generation has forgotten what the Warsaw pact did and how many NATO and American lives were lost. Except the French, screw the French.
All the young kids and people around my age actually buy into the evil Russia notions still, due to their mass consumption of social and mainstream media propaganda. I support today's Russia because of their efforts in saving the Syrian people, Christians, and actually fighting Al-Qaeda and radicals.
If the Russians never intervened in Palmyra, ISIS would have controlled it and would have been able to launch an offensive straight into Damascus topping Assad. Then we'd have more refugees.... Our CIA watched them cross 100 miles in an open dessert into Palmyra and did nothing but watch. If it were not for Russia there would be 10X more death and destablity in Syria.
If you have time and are interested, watch this video that explain what's really happening in Syria and why the Russians have been doing good.

Senator Richard Black has an extensive military background and is one of the few politicians speaking the truth in all this.

What a coincidence; I bought one of those evil-Russia tickets way back in 1986. I was going to tear it up, but I decided that since I had bought into those freakish notions of Russia as a bad guy, I'd just continue to throw good money after bad in hopes that I'd eventually get a return on my investment.
However, if Russia had not intervened to keep Damascus safe, one group of our enemies would have toppled another group of our enemies and maybe even deteriorated the effectiveness of the Russia's powerful political and military presence in the Levant.
...win win for America - dead Syrians, dead rebels, less Russian influence, no more Assad
I'm a socially irreverent prick, so I don't care at all about refugees from someone else's war. Our solution should be to stop them at the border and send them back across the ocean. If their neighboring countries don't want them, then we don't need them here either.
...in a completely unrelated story, the morning after a terrorist bomb exploded in St Petersburg, there are numerous news outlets reporting that jets dropped chemical munitions in the Idlib province in Syria, killing at least 58 people.

Or maybe halfway back?:D
I would give all military aged males an AK and 30 rounds and drop them right across the lines into a staging area to go try and change the government themselves.

Hell, I'd arm them with chemical weapons so they could retaliate in kind....

So with Idlib being one of the last terror strongholds and Assad clearly winning the war, why would he all of a sudden "gas" his own people risking international involvements?
I'm betting a chemical weapons storage facility was bombed or the radicals are using it on the populations passing the blame to the government to warrant international involvement.
I'm not taking the word of the "neutral" humanitarian NGO's on the ground. This is what they really are.

Exactly. And to everyone cheering this on. Ask yourself if your name is on that VIP list for a bunker with 5 ears worth of provisions.
Because that is where this is going.
Fast.
