When I first heard about this, I honestly thought it was from the Duffelblog or the Onion. Nope - this is a real story.

Wally Pfingsten has always been a news junkie. But since President Donald Trump was elected, he’s been so anxious about the political tumult that even just having the TV news on in the background at home is unbearable.

“It’s been crippling,” said the 35-year-old San Mateo, Calif., resident and political moderate who has supported both Democratic and Republican candidates in the past. “I feel angry, really, really angry, far more angry than I expected to be.”
He’s tried hard to quell his anxiety. First, he shut down his Facebook page to limit his exposure to the daily soaking of news from Washington. But not knowing the goings-on made him anxious, too. He found himself sneaking onto the Facebook account he made for his dog. “I felt like I was cheating,” he said.

Pfingsten is not alone in his politics-induced anxiety — it’s so common it’s been given an unofficial name: Post-Election Stress Disorder. Mental health professionals around the country, especially those working in Democratic strongholds, report a stream of patients coming in with anxiety and depression related to — or worsened by — the blast of daily news on the new administration.

For a good laugh, continue this story at PBS (http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/post-election-stress-disorder-sweeps-nation/)

Crippling huh ? Probably qualifies one for some sort of disability pay. I am all broke up about this new malady that will no doubt affect millions of snowflakes nationwide.

“I never read the Harry Potter books, so I’m reading Harry Potter,” says Matthew Leal, a 34-year-old San Francisco resident who found himself sinking into a depression after the election. “Someone could see this and say I’m being totally escapist right now, but I feel like it’s kind of what I need.”

Why not escape from your leftist fantasy world into another make believe world of witches?

Didn't I hear that FEMA was going to put up re-education camps right next to the temp deportation camps? I only say this cause I was talking with a guard online about pay & benefits and he said the "new" camps would pay more, a lot more if you had a TS clearance.

Well, anyway, that might ease the liberal stress.........

They are going to be needing a lot of laborers when they start to build that wall.

Probably have to hire a lot of illegals in the trades to build something that big. :D

I wonder if we will see a split in "blue" and "red" schools?

I've never visited the College of the Ozarks known as "Hard Work U", but I would hazard a guess the campus climate would differ dramatically from Berkeley.

But even Stanford, across the way from Berkeley and where I have recent experience, considered to be a "conservative" school, isn't very conservative.

At best it's centrist, and that's probably a bit of a stretch based on its long/old decreasing in relevance ties with government/DOD R&D.

Will parents and students be placing increasing relevance and weighting on real/perceived university location on the political continuum and other factors like active/passive support for social justice campaigning.

I'm simply not paying for my kids to attend a university where they will be indoctrinated into becoming a useful idiot for the bad guys.....or worse....an active auxiliary/underground member.

Conformity & confirmation bias are incredibly powerful tools that can be used for malignant purposes.

US News & World Report(and others) annually develop University ranking systems.

With kids due to attend university in the next 5+ years, it's a fast growing consideration of mine.

I wonder if anyone can/will rate Universities for political spectrum/activism bias?

College of the Ozarks admission rate(8%) couldsomeday become even more selective than my alma mater Stanford(5%) if universities fail to find a genuine neutral position and stick to it.

I hope genuine and measurable political neutrality becomes "a thing" for universities in the near future.

Otherwise, looking at specific schools like College of the Ozarks and their application/acceptance/growth rate trends might become quite interesting indicators.

As an Aggie, and having multiple Aggies in my family, I can place Texas A&M solidly in the "Red" category. We hold strongly to our traditions, so much so that we're called "backwards". If A&M has a degree for your kids, I can assure you they would only be indoctrinated into a culture of tradition and integrity. Gig 'em!

They expected 9,400 visits but are on track for 16,000 visits this year.

Times I sought mental health treatment while putting myself through 6 years of Architecture/Design at the University of Arizona *....0

* Now called Arizona University....for some dam#reason?....Thats tramatizing enough but I still don't have any Drain Bamage :D

Of course to be fair I didn't have Trump to blame for everything....what a concept...

In the span of 75 years we've gone from a nation where men killed themselves because they were declared physically unfit to go fight the Germans and Japanese, to a nation where men are so traumatized by the election of someone they don't agree with that they're emotionally crippled. Good lord I want to puke!

We are in a growing “culture of victimhood” where even privileged liberal progressives regularly play the "victim" card - when it suits the agenda.

The cultural transformation you point out is truly disturbing.
