Much like it's been for a hundred years now, it's illegal to yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater if there is no fire.

Move forward a hundred years and this is what we have now.

"Somebody yelled 'gun!' and youths stampeded through the mall," Landrum said. "Pretty much the same thing happened here (at Oak Court).

Check out this article from USA TODAY:

Reports of mall disturbances light up social media

The 'go-to' phrase to scare everyone to run for their lives is "GUN!" The mere mention of 'gun' or 'shots fired' will send everyone into a panic and the police will respond in kind with tactical teams and every available officer deploying "assault" rifles (machine guns) and close down square miles of roads and hundreds of thousands of square feet of shopping areas and malls to investigate, clear and make safe again.

So far the penalty for yelling gun in a crowded mall is 'na-da' (because it's better to be safe than sorry,) but when will yelling "GUN" in a crowded space become illegal too? (If there is no gun or crime being committed.)

Social media and the media (MSM) have promoted public shootings of schools and malls to a social boiling point and it's only a matter time where injuries turn fatal in the panic to disperse.

A nation of scared people that run from everything; including a chair hitting the floor.

Thoughts?

So outlawing guns isn't enough? Do we now need to outlaw the use of the word 'gun' as well?

I'm not a very smart guy so I rarely understand the points they are trying to make in USA Today.

People are 'afraid' because publications like USA Today put a lot of effort into scaring them.

Billy, I think that's the trend they have been pushing for.

Let's ban everything that isn't good for "me" and then we will all be able to live a socially liberal utopia.

Cracking down on crime, gangs, drugs, and the mentally retarded hasn't worked so let's go after the law abiding citizens and demand they give up their rights.

I disagree that we have effectively "cracked down" on crime, gangs, etc...

Our overdriven focus on diversity, understanding, acceptance, inclusion, et al has simply provided a façade that we are cracking down.
...it is no longer a riot - it is a protest
...we cant call it crime, we have to call it civil disobedience

As a nation, we cant call crime by its real name - we wont call terrorism by its real name. As a result, we effectively fan the flames of discontent.

The REAL problem as I see it goes beyond "sheeple"
Even sheep like to fight when the time is right. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfGVASqZcFQ)
The problem is that people are sheep. The problem is that "we" are becoming weak sheep.
Weak sheep are a hazard. They get scared and they stampede.
...just like the weak spirited folks at the mall. Only the weak trample their own - but that is where we have found ourselves; trampling our own out of some blind fear.

Sheep aren't afraid to lock horns - they do it for fun. It is the larger, weaker portion of the herd that we need to worry about.
A thousand ill placed head-butt's wont hurt this great nation of ours, but a few strategically planned stampedes will sink us all.

Of course, the lfetist lily livered limousine liberals wont call it a stampede - that might be offensive to the sheep.

I was semi-tracking this as it was going down last night. There were some other cities involved that didn't make the USA Today article, Ft. Worth being one, I believe.

At least one of the gunshot reports was later attributed to the sound of a chair hitting the ground in a food court.

It looks like the "sheeple" are shifting in mindset. Whereas once they would stand around in denial ("I thought the gunshots were firecrackers"), they have made the mental leap to suspect that any loud, not immediately identifiable noise is the beginning of a massacre, and they stampede accordingly.

Oh what one lioness can do to a herd of wildebeests.

The liberals have planted the seed of a "lone wolf" to slaughterer the flock.

(Also, I agree the current/last DOJ has succeeded in neutering the police nationwide)

At what point does the coordination of events like these and the protests/riots via social media constitute a criminal activity?

You may have thought after people died but, that apparently hasn't set the bar.

Let them riot, let them burn! "Give them space to loot, it's only property" Police ordered to stand down. (Mayor Rawlings-Blake, Baltimore)

^^^slightly off topic but that is the message to inner-city youth across Americas' liberal cities.

A people cannot be stupid AND free.

Too true. Course after the popular vote went to Hitlery, I'm left wondering how many people really want to be "free". After all - it's a nasty, dirty condition, fraught with peril and onerous responsibility.

As for me - I give you a parable and a quote:

The Wolf And The House Dog
by Aesop

There was once a Wolf who got very little to eat because the Dogs of the village were so wide awake and watchful. He was really nothing but skin and bones, and it made him very downhearted to think of it.

One night this Wolf happened to fall in with a fine fat House Dog who had wandered a little too far from home. The Wolf would gladly have eaten him then and there, but the House Dog looked strong enough to leave his marks should he try it. So the Wolf spoke very humbly to the Dog, complimenting him on his fine appearance.

"You can be as well-fed as I am if you want to," replied the Dog. "Leave the woods; there you live miserably. Why, you have to fight hard for every bite you get. Follow my example and you will get along beautifully."

"What must I do?" asked the Wolf.

"Hardly anything," answered the House Dog. "Chase people who carry canes, bark at beggars, and fawn on the people of the house. In return you will get tidbits of every kind, chicken bones, choice bits of meat, sugar, cake, and much more beside, not to speak of kind words and caresses."

The Wolf had such a beautiful vision of his coming happiness that he almost wept. But just then he noticed that the hair on the Dog's neck was worn and the skin was chafed.

"What is that on your neck?"

"Nothing at all," replied the Dog.

"What! nothing!"

"Oh, just a trifle!"

"But please tell me."

"Perhaps you see the mark of the collar to which my chain is fastened."

"What! A chain!" cried the Wolf. "Don't you go wherever you please?"

"Not always! But what's the difference?" replied the Dog.

"All the difference in the world! I don't care a rap for your feasts and I wouldn't take all the tender young lambs in the world at that price." And away ran the Wolf to the woods.

There is nothing worth so much as liberty.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude
better than the animating contest of freedom,
go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or your arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you,
and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Samuel Adams

If I recall, didn't Eric Holder also recommend that the administration needed to direct an intense, top-down-driven narrative to demonize guns and personal gun-ownership until people were so conditioned to fear the sight or mentioning of them?

Eric Holder must have not read "the letter", and if he did he must not have understood what you guys were saying.

The problem is, there is a dark cross section of society that dresses nicely, they talk intelligently, they behave cordially, and they smile when they shake your hand and pat you on the back. Meanwhile, they have people on the payroll studying your every move - they are playing the long-game with a specific strategy and one day when they shake your hand... you will be so conditioned to letting them pat you on the back that you wont realize until its too late you are being shanked.
We call these people liberal democrats.

Republicans, in contrast are only interested in profits and fundraising - all in the name of economic freedom.

It's a shame when you really break it down into the pure elements. It may be one year or 50 years, but those cut from the same cloth as the 0bamas and clint0ns will eventually own the country.
...not lead it - own it.
...and they will do it with the zealous support of 51% of the aMErican people.

I'm not gonna disagree with someone smarter than I am.

I just hope that the price they pay includes a hell of a lot of bloodshed by the 51% who support their enslavement.
