A now very dead individual rammed a vehicle into pedestrians at Ohio State University this morning, then jumped out with a knife and began stabbing people. Initial reports of a second suspect with a gun appear unfounded.

Nine injured, one critical. A university police officer was on the scene in less than a minute and eliminated the threat.

No one is officially labeling this yet, but the method of attack is one seen elsewhere in the world, particularly in Israel. I've seen a photo of the dead dirtbag and he looks decidedly unlike the stereotypical deranged Caucasian school attacker.

CBS News is reporting the attacker was a 20-year-old Somali man.

Tsarnaev brothers were also given a golden opportunity here, too...they and family were also once refugees and decided to blow innocents up. If love and respect for the United States and an overwhelming desire to assimilate are not primary elements for entering this country then this seems like what you get from certain areas of the world. Extreme vetting sounds reasonable if you want to come here from certain areas of the world - all they seem to know is violence and civil unrest.

The university gave a press conference and also gave the police officers name, (omitted by me). A simple Google search and I was able to learn he is engaged to an OSU grad, her name and the date/time/location of the wedding & reception. If this is international terrorism it seems pretty stupid to out him.

Somali refugee Abdul Razak Ali Artan posted on Facebook that he was 'sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers being killed and tortured' shortly before he went on a slashing rampage at the Ohio State University that left 11 injured.
Authorities are currently investigating the posts, allegedly made by Artan, which mention radical cleric Anwar Awlaki and accuse America of 'interfering' with other nations.

'I am sick and tired of seeing my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters being killed and tortured EVERYWHERE,' it stated. 'I can't take it anymore.

'America! Stop interfering with other countries, especially Muslim Ummah (communities)... [if] you want us Muslims to stop carrying lone wolf attacks.'
'We are not weak, remember that,' the post said, according to NBC News.

And don't forget that there is no need for those knives to exceed 1 1/2" in length, handles that exceed 3 inches, have pointed ends... nor should they be full-tang or have vertical hand guards for knives of that description are for exclusive military use.

Scooter, haven't they tried this in the U.K.? If my memory is correct didn't the number of violent crimes involving legally owned knives skyrocket? Also IIRC the sale and distribution of NFA (Nives For Attacking) (aka banned assault knives) created a vast black market on street corners and dark alleys where the police armed only with small clubs didn't go.

As tragic as this is, especially to those of us here that understand the problem, I can't really feel bad about this. These college students at OSU and about every other college and university have created this mess.

I wouldn't doubt it for one second that at least 1 of the victims has a "coexist" bumper sticker on their car and a belief that they have muslim "friends" at the school.

Prior to this incident they probably all crapped their pants in a safe zone when some former soldier come student suggested that students be able to carry arms at school. (The Security guard proved 2 things, 1 a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with anything, and 2 when seconds count, Security is only minutes away).

My thought was how many conservatives were born yesterday with the realization that everything they thought was true was actually a lie... probably not many as the stupidity of liberalism runs deep. They brought in a law to limit blade length to legally carry in public, doesn't really work seeing that you can still buy survival knives and concealing them is simple. It's a different culture in the uk, it'll never change. We have a large group of Somalis in the uk, most in gutter areas of London and Birmingham. A friend has to police the Birmingham area, armed and quick to taser

They made it a point on the local news here in Northeastern Ohio to point out that Columbus has the second largest Somalian community in the country; Right behind the Twin Cities. Columbus is also a sanctuary city with approximately 30,000 Somalians. He put it out on social media that he was tired of muslims being hated and killed everywhere. The sources point to Abdul Razak Ali Artan's Facebook posts before his short-lived rampage on the Columbus campus. The posts referenced Awlaki, who was a leader of al Qaeda in Yemen. Sources also note the style of the attack was encouraged by ISIS in a recent online magazine.
Despite claims from the Islamic State's purported media wing that Artan was an ISIS soldier, there is no indication so far that Artan communicated with any terror group; evidence points to a lone wolf attack. Investigators are inspecting his computer and cell phone and talking to family and associates, as they try to determine what led him to act.
