As is my habit while I get ready for work in the mornings, I watch "Morning Joe" to keep tabs on the trends in liberal think and message. So this morning I heard Joe Scarborough proclaim that during the primaries they warned that Trump would likely win the nomination and that early in the campaign they said he was going to win the election! Huh??? I thought I misheard him.
This afternoon, I heard Mark Levin repeat Joe's proclamation, so I didn't mishear. Is MSNBC trying to say that they predicted the outcome all along?
Later in the show the guest who is the political reporter for the "Hollywood Reporter" (now there's an oxymoron fer ya ) was commenting that the left's hyper-response to the Trump victory and the over reaction to Steve Bannon is playing right into their strategy! Oddly, I had that exact conversation last week with another Brother. This guy gets it!
The MSM and the progressives have taken the bait. The Trump/Bannon strategy has been one of misdirection and it has been beautifully executed IMO. In fact this is a well known but not often used negotiating tactic - take an outrageous position and watch your oppositions reaction. Trump did exactly that in the primaries and the progressives went nuts and still are. He is sucking all of the media attention and it's misdirected - there is no There there guys!
The Clinton campaign took the bait hook line and sinker and lost big time. The NYT had to eat crow and it's reputation has been damaged. Same for the Washington Post and most of the MSM. Joe Scarborough is trying to save face and is hoping to promote a revisionist version of recent history.
These chuckleheads still don't get it and the Dems in their attempt to rebuild their party are actually doubling down on their failed identity politics gambit. Good luck with that!
I watched carefully the body language and the optics after the meeting with Mitt Romney on Saturday. Romney looked like a school boy that had just come from the Principal's office!
I for one, am very encouraged by what I am seeing. I said before that Donald Trump will turn over the apple cart of politics as usual and we are seeing exactly that.
Well played Mr. President-Elect, well played indeed. :lifter
