The local cemetery that has an astounding budget of $500.00 per year for upkeep it is in need of a little TLC. It has quite a few broken stones and several that have been tipped over for too many years. I have nothing better to do so I am going to rehab it.
I have reset three of the stones here is a before and after pic of one of them.

That is a lovely new hobby. Good on you. I always gravitate to the "older" areas of cemeteries and stop at a few grave sites just because.

kudos to you! worked for an old man as a kid once and helped him clean up an old cemetery which used to be from an old cotton town (5 houses left in the place at that time). It gave my young dumbass, teenage self at the time a sense of well being. Glad to see people are still doing that.

You can barely see it but they carved her name Jennie across the top, this was really a nice stone. The compliments are much appreciated. Its sad to see so many stones in various states of disrepair. These were all people that someone cared about at one time, lots of infants.

There is a national cemetery next to the homeless shelter I work at that is locked up and in need of attention. I understand why they lock it, but I'd dearly love to go pick up the trash that has blown in there. Outstanding new hobby.

You should contact your congressman about this and if the government does not wish to care for it which I would believe they have an obligation to, you should be allowed to do some volunteer work in it. Contact your local news TV and print, make some noise and get some attention. This should not happen.
