University of Florida offers counseling for students 'troubled' by Halloween costumes
Published October 14, 2016
· FoxNews.com
The University of Florida is offering counseling to anyone who gets offended by any costumes worn this coming Halloween.
The school wrote in a blog post Monday urging students to “think about your choices of costumes and themes.”
“Some Halloween costumes reinforce stereotypes of particular races, genders, cultures, or religions. Regardless of intent, these costumes can perpetuate negative stereotypes, causing harm and offense to groups of people. Also, keep in mind that social media posts can have a long-term impact on your personal and professional reputation,” the post read.
The school reminded students that anyone who is offended or troubled by an incident or a costume, they could seek counseling at the wellness center or alert the school’s Bias Education Response Team which provides support to those who were impacted.
“If you are troubled by an incident that does occur, please know that there are many resources available. Please take advantage of the 7 day a week presence of the U Matter, We Care program at the University of Florida by emailing umatter@ufl.edu. Additionally, there is a 24/7 counselor in the Counseling and Wellness Center available to speak by phone.”
The University of Florida’s post comes days after Wisconsin-La Crosse hosted an event that attempted to educate students on not dressing like a racist. About 30 students showed up to the event, which was advertised with posters asking “Is Your Costume Racist?”
One school district in Connecticut was also cracking down on clown costumes after the “killer clown” fear that has plagued cities nationwide. The district prohibited clown costumes and any “symbols of terror” for Halloween outfits.

My kid is planning on attending college after he graduates this next year......It's sad when you really don't want your kid to get a college education because of the freak show that college has become. He wants a degree in Criminal Justice so he can be in law enforcement. He is not as quiet as me so I don't know if he can keep his mouth shut around wimpy, crybaby, pussy kids his age. Not sure if he'll last long there. Being from a real small town that doesn't have the attitude that most of these sap suckers have has kept him sane for the most part (and a Pop who doesn't baby him and give him safe places to pout!!)
luckily this young generation isn't totally lost although it seems they are out numbered!!!

Dear MSU Denver Community,
As an academic community we are committed to maintaining a campus environment that fosters the free exchange of diverse ideas and allows individuals to express their viewpoints in a variety of ways. In such a setting, and with the backdrop of today’s political climate, I recognize that some members of our University community feel marginalized, disrespected, and anxious, particularly when others’ expressed views demean their identity or lived experiences. I encourage each of you to actively seek out ways to have your voices heard on important issues facing our world today by engaging in respectful dialogue both in and outside of the classroom, and by continuing to seek out opportunities to learn about the issues most salient to you.
MSU Denver has a rich history of allowing for free discourse in an academic setting, while simultaneously supporting our diverse student body. We take seriously our commitment to a supportive campus climate for all students, as evidenced by several programs which provide tailored support to our diverse students. A few examples of such programs include:
· Immigrant Services
· Brother 2 Brother
· Cultivating Connections
· LGBTQ Student Resource Center
· Veteran/Military Student Center
I am also pleased to share that plans are underway to develop a new multicultural center to further support our diverse students and to serve as a hub for MSU Denver activities related to race, ethnicity, and culture. Events on a variety of relevant topics are also hosted regularly by different campus departments- check out what’s coming up on the University’s events calendar at https://www.msudenver.edu/events/.
If you are feeling anxious and uneasy about the future and the current climate in our country please be reminded that the MSU Denver Counseling Center offers students confidential services and a safe space to process and explore feelings. Please call the Counseling Center at 303-556-3132 to schedule an appointment or contact the Dean of Students Office at 303-556-3559 if you’d like assistance connecting with other resources.
Sincerely,
Stephen M. Jordan, Ph.D.

I think we should all use our GI bills when we retire to go back to school and do nothing more than troll these little snowflakes.
For the Country, this is a disaster.
For my kids, this is GREAT!! I'm not raising them to be pussy's and to run to gubmint at the least perceived slight. I am raising them that sometimes life isn't fair and you need to work harder and dig deeper; to never quit; never succumb or let yourself get beatdown if you are in the right.
I give them room to fail and then am quietly standing nearby to hold them, hug them and also quietly AAR why it went wrong and how to avoid that result in the future.
They are strong, resilient kids who will one day reign supreme over the fawning, feckless sycophants in "progressive-land".

So what is the end game on this? To outlaw the celebration of Halloween or the continued redefinition of racism and assault of the 1st Amendment?

According to Wikipedia, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has over 10,000 students. The special snowflake students in places like these are probably a tiny, albeit loud-mouthed, minority, so hopefully our youth aren't completely screwed up. The big concern are the college faculty and admin types who coddle and abet this behavior, probably because they are special snowflakes themselves who got into academia to avoid having to deal with the real world.

Yeah, you got out when the gettin was good ...
Have seen a marked increase in metrosexual "men" this semester ... You know the kind, hippie beards, hair done up in "man-buns", wearing flannel shirts, skinny jeans and some type of sandal, all the while puffing on one of those "Vape" things.
Thankfully, ALL my classes this semester are in the science building, so I don't have to cross campus or see them too long. I take the train in, walk to the science building, take my classes, then walk back to the train. It's all about limiting my exposure to them.

Please. If you're going to label those douche bags, could you at least use the proper moniker? Their proper identifier is "Lumbersexuals". They are of the same build, effeminacy, attitude and loathsome character as metrosexuals yet they adopt a frail and wispy facade of rugged manliness like that of a woodsman, roughneck or hunter in order to hopefully impress the independent woman on campus (okay, coffee shop/book reading) who is seeking out her alpha male.

Wow! I had no idea how abrasive us older generation types were (and I don't think of myself as that old). What an article! I expect Putin has been reading stuff like this and thinking what a bunch of pussies these Americans have become. It's no wonder they are in the process of preparing for war (Russia, incase you missed my intent).
What are we to do when these hurt feeling, sniveling wimps get drafted and are supposed to go out and fight a real enemy? Okay, that was a rhetorical question. It is going to boil down to us guys who thought we could kick back and retire peacefully. Guess I'm going to have to let my kid read some of these articles so that he knows what's going on when he goes to college.

Tomahawk, you have read the cards right. It is all about perception (hence this safe space shit). The girlies look at these bearded, flannel clad guys and think they are onto something. Too bad the media keeps the real warriors who are out fighting for our country hidden. I guess that would probably scare the young chickies of today and they would search for a safe space free of real men, where only the pretend guys are........so sad!

It's not their fault they have fine-tuned t the exterior that attracts girls, and skip the repulsive interior. It is we neanderthals who refuse to evolve :D Had a lady friend who declined men from Bragg for years only to get hitched by a lumbersexual in Florida. Yes, earrings, tattos and all. Could have been a poster guy in "gun magazine"
...but yes, they are small percentage but are the loudest. I imagine they give the professors hard time as well with every hurt feeling.
Wonder if they appreciated the phrase "unindicted felon"...this election cycle...probably not - that'd be a triggering event...
Don't say 'man up,' 'like a girl,' Chico State athletes say
Students at California State University-Chico are being treated to an educational campaign instructing them to avoid phrases like “man up” and “like a girl.”
The campaign was adopted at the urging of the Chico State Student Athlete Advisory Committee, which hopes that the poster campaign will lead students to avoid potentially offensive terms.
The school’s athletics department announced last week that it will participate in the “You Don’t Say” campaign at the behest of the Chico State Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and has already begun hanging posters around campus admonishing students to avoid a variety of potentially-offensive words and phrases.

I need to enroll there. Wonder what sports I could sign up for at my age? If they say no I will point out over 40 is a protected class. After that I wonder how long I would last with terms like slack jawed faggot. When they get pissed I will cry foul that there is age discrimination.
Lol, on campus, today...might just be considered foreplay depending on circumstances...just don't go calling anyone an illegal alien...

College threatens police response for students wearing 'offensive' costumes
Published October 25, 2016 FoxNews.com
Tufts University has sent out a letter that is sure to spook Greek life students ahead of Halloween weekend.
Students involved in fraternities and sororities at the Massachusetts school are being told to not wear anything that could offend others during Halloween celebrations – or risk getting investigated by campus police and being slapped with “serious disciplinary sanctions.”

THE GREAT LIBERAL FREAKOUT
The Great Liberal Freakout is under way, as we’ve noted below. Here’s my haul.
The head of the Joint Center for Political Studies, which the*Washington Post*describes as a “respected liberal think tank,” reacted to Trump’s landslide thus: “When you consider that in the climate we’re in—rising violence, the Ku Klux Klan—it is exceedingly frightening.” Castro, still with us, said right before the election:*“We sometimes have the feeling that we are living in the time preceding the election of Adolf Hitler as Chancellor of Germany.” *Claremont College professor John Roth wrote: “I could not help remembering how economic turmoil had conspired with Nazi nationalism and militarism—all intensified by Germany’s defeat in World War I—to send the world reeling into catastrophe… It is not entirely mistaken to contemplate our post-election state with fear and trembling.” *Esquire*writer Harry Stein says that the voters who supported Trump were like the “good Germans” in “Hitler’s Germany.”* Sociologist Alan Wolfe is up in the*New Left Review: “The worst nightmares of the American left appear to have come true.”*And he doubles down in*The Nation: “[T]he United States has embarked on a course so deeply reactionary, so negative and mean-spirited, so chauvinistic and self-deceptive that our times may soon rival the McCarthy era.” The*Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, keeper of the “Doomsday Clock” that purported to judge the risk of nuclear annihilation, has moved the hands on the clock from seven to four minutes before midnight.
Oh wait, did I say this was the reaction to Trump?? *Sorry—these are what the left was saying*the day after Ronald Reagan’s election in 1980. Some things never change.

The students issued a list of demands.
Several student groups at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., sent a letter to administrators claiming that the police protecting them on campus is an “act of violence” because a police union endorsed Donald Trump. The letter, which was obtained by the College Fix, is titled “Demands for Our Campus by Concerned Students.” (Yes . . . demands.)
