Any leverage that we have on this in the area?

It would be terrible if this guy had a "problems" in the near future. MTL, we have members on here who have kids in that particular school. We should be petitioning that particular school in order to have administrative action taken against him.

There were a million other "freedom of speech" arguments that he could have made. Instead, he chose something "trendy".

We bitch alot about the current state of things in this country.........this might be one that we could actually effect.

Perhaps someone should show him their first amendment rights in the same manner.

While he may have a right to do that on his own time (still bullshit) while on the schools time he does not. Bet your ass if a teacher wanted to read a bible verse stating it was their first amendment right they would be in deep trouble.

Agreed. Maybe the guys in 3rd Group Should pay him a visit.

I would be willing to bet that if I was free to walk up to him and slap him across the face if he stomped a US flag...he wouldn't stomp it.

But, we will never know...so people like him will continue stomping to make their points because they are doing so under the protection of the law.

In all of these "protests" against some 'perceived' injustice or fight for 'equality' I keep thinking - if you are so disappointed and disgusted with what the United States of America stands for and that the Stars and Stripes of the Flag stands as a symbol of this country and all its faults and promises - then maybe it's time for you to leave and find a country that supports your thinking.

Both Canada and Mexico are close and don't really give a shit if you feel disappointed. In Southwest Asia and N. Africa they burn our flag as a daily ritual of passage - maybe they'd be happier there.

Wouldn't that be your right to self-expression?

The irony of those that desecrate the flag is they are the very first to hide behind it when threatened.

Should be a very interesting parent-teacher conference (aka "whomping", as my kin in Georgia like to say).

I myself prefer to honor it and the men that have sacrificed for her.

The irony is apparently too difficult for him to follow. "As a demonstration of my freedom I'm going to trample the symbol of the country that guarantees me this freedom!"

Right. How enlightened he must be.

He's a teacher - most are not known for their intelligence.

He said in an interview today something to the effect of "After I did it I asked the students if any objected and nobody said anything."

He is such a limp-wristed coward that he can't even own his own actions. Yep...blame it on the kids. That's a man!

It would seem, he's a budding politician. Next thing he might say is "What difference does it make?"

Now that the deed is done: lie, deny and redirect. Perhaps he's a democrat? Meets the criteria. :munchin
