I want to make a list of American assault weapons. Hopefully we can ban them all once they are "listed". I'll start. The first American Assault Weapon:

The Kentucky Rifle

This was one of Americas first true assault weapons it was used by the first US military and was also in the hands of the first "American civilians"!

I'm pretty surprised the general public was allowed to use such a devastating assault weapon!

I offer the Henry Repeating Rifle. Introduced just in time for the Civil War, with 16 rounds, it was the rifle you can load on Monday and shoot till Sunday....A rifle you can shoot all week without reloading? That there is a true assault rifle...

May I introduce the assault shotgun, father of the venerable assault rifle, capable of firing a variety of bullets from balls to handfuls of sharp objects. It didnt have a clip, but one could carry a bag of nails and rocks and making it was a high capacity assault shotgun.

Make sure you use the socialist/media term else this thread makes no sense. ;)

I want it searchable as these are what some green berets think of as American Assault Weapons!

One Assault Weapon that was made into a Sniper rifle!

Mine jammed a couple of weeks ago. Here's my exchange with their assault weapon gunsmith:

PSM: Fly season opened today. Bagged two then the gun jammed. The safety is off and the pump slides but I can't pull the trigger. Any suggestions?

Pat

B-a-S: Hello Patrick,

We apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing! We are here to help and to make sure you are able to kill your fly quota for the day!

Hopefully you have only been using granulated salt (i.e. Morton’s table salt) as instructed. Kosher/sea salt does not work and has been known to cause issues due to the grain size. A friendly reminder: sand-like substances will clog and break the Bug-A-Salt.

Before we send you a replacement gun we would first like to attempt to fix your current model. If you try to repair your gun unsuccessfully, we offer a (90) ninety-day warranty.

1: If the Bug-A-Salt is not shooting, intermittently shooting, or shooting a little salt please do the following:

· Remove the salt from the salt hopper, cock the Bug-A-Salt, and pour in a salt hopper full of warm to hot water (not boiling, which could melt the plastic) to dissolve any clogs.

· Fire the unit 5-6 times, making sure the pin at the bottom of the salt hopper moves up and down smoothly. Do this by cocking the Bug-A-Salt and pressing down on the pin with your finger. It should pop up immediately once you release the pressure of your finger. If it does not, poor a little more water and shoot a few more times.

· Be sure the Bug-A-Salt is completely dry before putting salt in. Do not use a heater or hair dryer to dry the hopper without supervision. The salt hopper and lid can melt due to continuous heat exposure.

2: If you attempt to shoot the Bug-A-Salt and it misfires (the site stays up and the cocking mechanism moves freely without resistance):

· Cock the Bug-A-Salt forcefully as though you’re angry with it 4-5 times. The forward motion towards the muzzle is the most important direction to be forceful. This resets the trigger mechanism to factory default.

If these quick fixes do not solve the problem (or the issue keeps happening), let us know. The fastest way to get further assistance or a replacement is to call us at 310-392-3288 M-F 9 AM - 5 PM PST. We do need a little information from the gun itself, which can be found on the bottom of the gun on a white sticker.

We stand behind our Bug-A-Salt 2.0's and always “aim” to please. Thank you for your interest in our product and we look forward to resolving this issue with you!
Best Regards,

PSM: It worked! Thanks. Fresh Musca domestica Linnaeus on the grill tonight. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm. :D

Nope, I'm a member of that org. and, as they say, 'came to be known as' because at the time of the Revolution there was no Kentucky per se.....they were just known as long rifles and originated in Pennsylvania and Virginia.

And, yes, you can do your push ups on the lay a way plan.

That's what laymen call an early long rifle...much like most call a semi auto M4 an assault rifle bada bing...:)

Leonardo and the original assault weapon circa 1500!
da Vinci’s 33-barreled organ, which featured 33 small-caliber guns connected together. The canons were divided into three rows of 11 guns each, all connected to a single revolving platform. Attached to the sides of the platform were large wheels.

All the guns on the organ would be loaded and then, during battle, the first row of 11 would be fired. The platform would then be rotated to properly aim the next row of canons. The idea was that while one set of canons was being fired, another set would be cooling and the third set could be loaded. This system allowed soldiers to repeatedly fire without interruption.

How about the Browning Auto 5? It was one of the first semi-automatic shotguns available to the American public when it was introduced around the turn of the last century. Loaded with buckshot it was a formidable weapon, just ask Bonnie and Clyde. :D

Probably have killed more people by more people in more places worldwide than anything the liberals consider dangerous.

Actually, the M1 Carbine far exceeds the 9mm and .357 Magnum ballistically.

M1 carbine: 1900fps and 964 lb-ft.
.357 Magnum (4"): ~1300fps and 600 ft-lbs
9mm (my load): 1100fps and 334 lb-ft

The deadly Girandoni. Used by LAC expedition. The first repeating rifle of any kind to see military service. Thanks for that one. A recent long treatment I read (much based on expedition journals) indicates several of the tribes encountered were quite fascinated by that.

One more and this one does not need any background check  and in the sunlight its deadly projectiles reflect light just like deadly tracers  and it's still available by mail order just like  Lee Harvey Oswald's Manlicker-Cinzano! Even the Army used it in a program called Quick  Kill.
