With yesterday being the 72nd anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy, and of which, it is a VERY solemn occasion and we should NEVER forget the sacrifices made by those who partook of that endeavor, we also need to keep our sense of humor, albeit warped and twisted, I give you this ....
We have some French coalition partners downrange with us. They stayed up late the night before making brownies for my ODA as D-Day anniversary gifts. Cool gesture by a group of Commandos who claim that American sacrifice on that day is still revered and appreciated where they come from.

During tHe one trip that I made to a more rural area of France that was my experience as well not specifically D-Day, but for the entirety of our contribution to WWI and WWII.

From me experiance Parisians give rural Frencemen a bad name....chalk and cheese.
The rural people are a delight. The Parisians not so much.
