Why anyone would willingly live in a state that can arbitrarily deny one the ability to exercise their God-given and constitutionally protected right to self-defense is baffling. Of course, the LTC's situation is not that simple.

Chief Barcus, I suggest you surrender your weapon, because I am certain there is no special danger to your life that can't also be avoided by other means.

...Responding to the application, Oceanport’s chief of police, Daniel W. Barcus, contended that Russell had failed to demonstrate “justifiable need”: “There are no specific threats or previous attacks on you,” Barcus wrote, and neither is there any “special danger to your life that cannot be avoided by means other than by issuance of a permit to carry a handgun.” The answer to the question was “no.”

New Jersey

I always tried to hold my breath while driving through this smelly corrupt socialist state.

(Oh and when I did, I was always locked and loaded.)

It's truly pathetic that one individual has the privilege of determining whether another individual gets to CC or not.

We have some jacked-up places in this nation of ours.

I smell a lawsuit in the making ... one that will overcome the stench of New Jersey!

JMHO.

Nope - New Jersey is as bad, if not worse, than Maryland. You "need" verified, documented and creditable threats (multiple) against your life to warrant a permit.

Now...think about that. By the time you amass that evidence, you are dead. Truly a disgusting hell-hole frequented by third-world guido's and savages.

I don't know why anyone would purposely venture to, or remain in, that sewer.

Just look at this lean, mean fighting machine of a police chief.

I like to think of him as "Christie-sized".

Might be more more accurate if the AH had a Brown Shirt on.
