VIDEO: Burglar's family blames homeowner for shooting

"How Else He Gonna Get His Money?"

FLORIDA - The family of a 17-year-old are furious the teen was shot and killed by a homeowner police say was protecting her property.

The sister of the teen who died identified him as Trevon Johnson and released the following statement to CBS Miami:

“I don’t care if she have her gun license or any of that. That is way beyond the law… way beyond, He was not supposed to die like this. He had a future ahead of him. Trevon had goals… he was a funny guy, very big on education, loved learning.

You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood. You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”

It's spring break in the small town I live in.
Lots of folks are gone.
There are lots of empty homes.

I should go get my 'paypa game on!

He had a future ahead of him. Trevon had goals…

He had a future and goals that would have made a mile long rap sheet.

Yeah but, was he possibly related to anyone we know?

Will there be a civil[rights] suit that brings the long arm of the DOJustice into everyone's bedroom over this? Clearly even in the state of Florida..."I don't care if she had a proper and legal right to shoot him dead, there outta be a law against that. He need money for clothes."

Police response: "if you are being victimized or accosted by an intruder in your own home dial 9-1-1 we will be there to make a report..."

Out here in Southern California, we had two break-ins in different cities that ended with the victims shooting the burglars. The criminals chose to break into houses owned by police officers. The first incident resulted in one bad guy dead and one wounded. The second ended with both bad guys wounded. The dumb-assery of criminals is spreading.

That women is going to need to move far away from that "hood"...I wouldn't go there without an ODA! Perhaps some charity will help her relocate, before someone murders her.

Liberty City was a war zone back in 1980.

The burglar that came in my house was tracked down and handled with the tools I found in the yard he was hiding in. When he was released from the hospital we went to court and the DA told me that since he looked worse than I did they would not prosecute him for stabbing me. He received 2 years for felony burglary. He has been in and out of jail ever since, I wonder what he would have preferred, shot or live the life that he chose. Having encountered several of these types the world is a better place without them, unfortunately some lawyers and judges disagree with me and will fight for the criminals or their next of kin to put you at risk of jail or financial peril. The police that i talked to supported what happened to the criminal with the exception of the detective that investigated the case.

Can you dig a six foot hole in Miami, or is that called a well?

Someone should shoot the entire family as it has de-evolved out of the civilized human race.

We'd have to get rid of 80% of the world population with that kind of thinking. :munchin

We could make a big carbon foot print reduction if we stopped feeding hungry people around the world that don't like us.

First less fertilizer and fuel to grow the food here.
Second less cooking over wood or cow patty fires.
Third reduce money we borrow to give away to people that hate us. It's a win,win win!:munchin

Good thing he was big on education and loved learning. He learned the permanent way not to break into other people's houses.:D
